hey guys,

im not a frequent poster, but you might remember a while ago i had an rx-8 vs. euro thread up, to gather some opinions on what to choose.

well anyway, we (mainly my dad, car's for him, im hoping it'll be a hand-me-down in the not too distant future :D ) picked the euro for its practicality and fuel economy (a good, good choice, i'm sure you'll agree).

we gave up on the '06 that we found, but finally picked up an MY05 arctic blue 6MT lux non-nav in melb. very happy!

just under 30clicks on the clock, for a bit under 30k. not bad considering the fantastic condition of the car and all the extras - OEM lip kit, MP3 media player, speaker upgrade, mugen grille and wing, etc.... anyway, the intersting thing that after looking a little more through these forums, is that this car belonged to one of the memebers here before we bought it... what a coincidence. i had no idea!

in any case, we're REALLY happy with this car - can't wait till its mine 100%!
i'll hopefully post more regularly from now, though i'll admit, im young (only got my p's half a year ago) and pretty inexperienced with cars so my knowledge is pretty crap, but i'm here to learn!

cant have any performance mods unfortunately, because of high power vehicle restrictions from july last year (no perfomrnace mods whatsoever! or 8 cylinder cars whatsoever OR high performance 6's whatsoever!) but id like to make this car a visual masterpiece :) happy with the oem lip kit, happy with the oem wheels (sexy twin prong 5 spoke 17inchers), colour, wing and grille. its all good!

however, i was changing the parkers over the other day to match the HIDs (white parkers look good :) ), but in the process of bending back the fenders two clips holding them in place snapped as i tried to remove them . has this happened to anyone before, and should i do something about it?

my name's Shivesh btw, i'm in melb nd im 18. sorry if this was a really unorganised thread... but hope to see you guys on here much more often :D

edit: sorry for not putting [cl9] in the thread title.. will try to remember next time

congrats on the car and good buy.

this no performance mods what so ever rule stopped me for a while but as i think about it, almost every P plate has modded something in particularly a fat cannon at the back, even tho its not actually a performance enhancer but they still consider it as one :p i've also seen P's driving evo9s before.

these clips can be purchased any honda dealer not very expensive, everyone breaks them especially with older cars as they have more dust and dirt over them.

yeah thats pretty much what i was thinkin too, i reckon give me, say, 3 months or so nd then i'll eventually give in nd start messin around under the hood and under the car :P

and with the clips - phew. i had a feeling i'd be able to get a hold of them. they were so brittle - broke with hardly any effort. at least i got the parkers in tho :D thanks for the help mate - shall go into honda sometime soon

i think i know that car - it is certainly in good condition and cared for. And you got lots of extras too - just that original mugen wing costs like $1000....

fuel economy lol.... man this car drinks the same amount as my old V6 Commie.

Plus you will be pushed to pay 10-13 cents on top of the already high prices of fuel for fuel. I guess it will be better for the engine in the end.

You also get more k's from a tank too. In the end it's really only$2-3 more than unleaded. It's better for the engine so it's very worth it.

Congrats on your purchase! How much was it to buy?

really? in the time we've had it so far, its done wayyy better fuel wise than our old '98 v6 accord did. with a LOT of spirited driving i calculated just over 10l/100km, which isn't that great, but there's a lot of redlining in there. and it can only get better with more 'sensible' driving, true?

lol with the current trend in fuel prices, i pretty we're pretty much screwed in the next 5 years, so my logic is, make the most of driving the old petrols now while we can still afford it.

yeah, the difference between premium and regular really isn't that much. i wonder if its likely to widen in the future?

the car was 29k.

edit: and thanks for the congrats :P
