Save your money mate.Don't bother.
It's been done and provides little gain for the cash outlay.

Better off saving for turbo, lsvtec or engine swap.

just do ls/vtec and add those parts you listed ,do it properly with better internals and youll basically be goin after ITR's

waste of money no offense. cheaper to do a b18c conversion

spend money on getting a vtec head. It'll be better then b18c conversion.

hows everybodys thoughts about LS/VTEC turbo in an b18b? would it be to much work? rather just buy a b18c or b16 and just boost it ? in a DA9

different power characteristics to a b18c... 1834cc versus 1797cc plus different rod ratio as a result of different stroke.

to the OP... theres a complete B16a1 motor for sale in VIC in FS section for $400... buy that and use the head + pistons. get vtec ecu + loom. get GE lsvtec kit

The weak point in the Ls block are the rod bolts.

I looked up ARP rod bolts for the LS.

These it?: ARP 8740 rod bolts A 208-6001.

The stock LS B18A/B rod bolts are crap over 7000RPM or so due to them being thinner than the CTR and ITR rod bolts. Aparently they are the same bolts as the 1.2 and 1.6l econo engines.

Im sure the B18C and the B18a non vtec on a Da9 are the same block just the head maybe the internals is a little different!!

correct me if im wrong but i just decided that a B18c conversion is much cheaper in the long run...

Well i love my V'tec in my Da9 its so Pimped!

Same block minus,

vtec oil feed
no crank girdle
different oil pickup and baffle plate, sump
weaker bolts
longer stroke crank
lower comp pistons

In the process of getting all the parts together to build an LS/VTEC
I have the GSR head and manifold
conversion loom
p72 plus s100

Have a look at my car specs at Temple Of Vtec Asia black beast.
If you really want to go all B18a you wont really get much bang for buck ! If your budget will allow fitting a Vtec head with higher comp pistons good cams and Quad throttle bodies, engine management, will give you a very good strong 115kw+ @ the wheels strong torque engine.
If you want some good cams for your B18a non Vtec I have some Web Cams from the USA. Never been used.
