Just wondering what the difference was. I think the 06 got side mirror indicators as mine doesn't but wondering if anything else was different.

you can tell quality differences between the two.

Thanks very much. Not much difference then and certainly prefer a Japan made car than Thailand. It has the flappy paddles which was the most important difference from 04 to 05 I was looking for.

From what i gather 2006 has slight feature differences. In terms of the being made in Japan and Thailand its only assembly, all the parts are still made in Japan like the older models, they figured it was cheaper to assemble in Thailand plus the Tariffs are different in Thailand thus it cost the company less to assemble the cars and it works out to be cheaper for the consumers. From 2006 onwards the Jazz's were about 2k cheaper

japan is best. unless you are meticulously fussy then dont worry about the tiniest differences, the crap including gear sticks, hand brake lever, inside door flaps, sun visor, mirror and so on. well as to where they are made not sure, but surely it still pas QC but still nothing close the the japan built.

Agree. Japan made still is better quality.

However, i prefer the facelift version with features like side mirror indicator, tail lights, bodykit. Not sure if i'll ever notice stuff like gear sticks, hand break lever or sun visors though.

The Thai assembled Jazz still does it for me, no complaints so far. Loving the car. Test driven some of the older models prior to purchase, didnt make a lasting impression on me, but probably they were not well maintained by the owners

Do the LED taillights of the 06 model fit on the 05?

Yes I believe. Just need to buy the whole assy as you'll get the harness to plug the LED's into the normal bulb plug.

A few more differences:

05 has a small extra pocket in side of front passenger seat,
06 has deeper spare wheel well to accomodate full size spare wheel. 05 has space saver spare wheel.
Carpet is different type (I much prefer the 06 carpet)
Carpet in the cargo area covers the entire floor in 06. Only covers the section over the spare wheel cover in the 05.
Centre cap on the VTi-S alloy wheels is different.

A few people in various threads have made comments that they think the Japanese model is better quality however I have never seen this backed up with an example. In my opinion there is no difference in quality. The Thai robots work just as well as the Japanese ones!!!
