I was around at Bel this evening sorting out my intake and I was having a chat to the owner there and he was telling me that one of his associates in Hong Kong has just spent 2 months with Spoon in Japan.

Anyway, he was fortunate enough to drive Spoon's new Fit...and yes, it is propelled by a K20A! Aparently it is a relatively straight-forward fit with only minor cutting involved. It is also surprisingly easy to drive.

It will be interesting to see how this little baby goes given that the Mugen experiment is nothing more than a show-pony at the end of the day. It will be good to see a K20 powered FIt put through its paces.

I haven't been able to find anything substantial about it on the net yet, but then I haven't really had the chance to.

thats awesome to hear!

did he happen to say where the minor cutting was involved?
he said it was easy to drive, so did he mention about this one having power steering?

good to hear

Pete :)

The firewall had to be moved back i believe, there is an article about the Spoon Dynomite as it is know, in this months wheels magazine.

Apparently they've only had it up to 100km/h as they need to work out how to get all the power to the ground

Wrong one....that is Mugen's show-pony I was referring to.

Spoon is a different company, and theirs actually goes above 100kmh and revs past 3,000rpm....

The Dynamite has been finished for ages. I don't think they will make any further progress with it.

Spoon on the other hand will be racing theirs, so it is slightly more important that it actually runs properly....

I'd be guessing the top one is the K20 powered one....

Some nice pics in that link
