I just bought a set of Bosch Platinum & Iridium FUSION plugs for my EK4. I got them for a steal through work so I pretty just impulse bought them.

I matched them up in the catalogue to be correct sizing for my engine, but i'm a little concerned that they might be a bit much for my B16A2's stock ignition system.

The code on them is: F1-4 or FGR7DQI

I'm going to get some NGK Leads as well, but i'm just a bit worried that the new plugs will put too much stress/over-work my standard ignition system.

Anyone had issues with this sorta thing?

i would just use plugs with a cold rating of 6 for b16a
i ran ngk iridiums bkr7's on my b16 didnt feel as good as the 6's and idle felt funny
7's are a colder plug

If that F1-4 means a 1.4mm gap, just tap them in gently to about 1.1mm

And if they are 7 heat range, keep your eye on them for buildup, which will reduce or redirect your spark & cause misfire in the long term.Or just go to the 6's as 90LAN has recommended.

I remember thinking at the time I bought them that the NGK spark plug catalog specified a heat range of 6, but the BOSCH catalog specified a heat range of 7.

Hmmm... I might give them a try anyway and see how they go. I can always get the NGK's if these ones aren't right.

So you guys think they'll be ok to run with my standard ignition system? They won't cause it too much stress etc?

should b ok but the ngk lead is not recommended, for me at least... cos i tried a few... stock one the best.... better torque....

If I'm not wrong, heat range is specific across different brands.
a 6 on NGK might not correspond to a 6 on brand X.

*EDIT - Ah, I am right..kekeke*

Thanks heaps e240!

The heat range numbers used by spark plug manufacturers are not universal.

I'll give em a shot. Thanks guys!
