to answer original question, the heater hose is around 1in thick.. there is like a lever switch thing on it coming from the firewall.. theres like a emtal wire that pulls it open/closed... just pull it open for when you do coolant flush

how is the plug broken? Try some pliers to see if you can remove it, worst case would be having to use a drill if it's too badly fuc*ed. I've got some ghetto ideas , post some pics.
And yes you can buy it from Honda.

to empty out the old fluid, at the bottom of the radiator is a plastic plug with wings. is this the right one coz thats the one i tried to twist open like a screw as it has 'wings' but they came off and now i can't grab it with anything.

yes you got the right one. It has a small rubber o-ring on it as well worth replacing if your plug is that old.

If you cant use the proper drain hole try disconnecting the bottom hose from the radiator to flush out the coolant instead.

yeh, well the wings snapped off so only the plastic bit is stuck in there. cant even grab it out with pliers. any idea of how to get it out? i was thinking put a small screw in it and use that to turn it out?

^^ lol lol yes just turn your temperature adjustment to the hottest.
As for the broken plug I don't think drilling a screw into it will help at all, could you try lightly embed a small metal wedge and replicated the wings?? Just an idea not sure if it'll work cos I've never had one snap on me ever.

jus go wreckers n get one off another old radiator from similar car...
as for now drain coolant via the radiator hoses.. open them up n stick a hose in n turn ur tap on ..
n open another hose from another end so the water can flow thru
