Like all self painted wheels, if you scratch it hard enough it does come off. You can apply a few layers of clear coat for extra protection!

After the colour paint goes on. Just remember to use clear paint of same brand as well. Try it & tell me how you went... Good Luck!

What would be my best combo to paint them?
Light sand
primer
satin black
clear coat
OR
etch primer
satin black
clear coat
OR another way.I was thinking the first one.

No wait
Check the Lip for originality (should have sizing and specs and shit)
If that is gone they have been molested then spray them
If the labels/stickers are on dont think about it...

LoL...I was preparing some rims..
And i thought i would lightly "sand" them with a wirebrush... and it fuked up the rims good!....i had to do it all over again.. i've currently wetsanded them with 800 grit.. next will be 400 wet, and 80 (after a coat of primer)

just wondering with this DIY, the inside is still silver isn't it?
if you wanted the sides and the back sprayed as well, just turn over the wheel?
tiksie

You should have still sanded it! Just 800>1200 sand paper first so your paint sticks good.
Etch primer is used on metal surfaces.
Should do 2~3 coats of primer to 4~5 coats of paint and allow it to dry for about an hour or two depending if your using enamel or acrylic.

???
I was talking about the inner rim of the wheel, see pink parts of the picture below..
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/6844/cast20wheel.jpg
How would you go about spraying that part? Is it as simple as flipping the wheel over?

I wasn't quoting you mate :p
But yeh, spray the wheels while they are facing up.

my rim is full white colour.
should I need to use sand paper to sand off all the white paint ? (if yes, which grand of sand paper I need?)
will I need primer coat as well ?

80 ? Are you crazy ? Unless your going to hi-fill the wheels with a hi build primer, then I suggest you go 400~800~1200~1500 wet and clean it with wax and grease remover and dry before actually spraying.
doing at such a low grit you will be putting lines where the paint would sink.
adnoh, you don't have to sand off all the paint, just keep sanding until it has a matte finish for the primer to stick and then eventually the paint to stick onto primer.
Make sure you rub it matte dry with every coat after it has dried obviously.

I personally wouldn't go enamel, rather Acrylic.
You preety much get what you pay for though, if your putting it on a cheap set of rims, then yeah, go for it! Good for practise.
