Hi i need a bit of help i got a front set of superlow king springs for my Ek part number is KMFL-58A but the part number suppose to be KHFL-58A does any know why it is different????? ps these springs are made with the new generation X5k High Stress steel

Another question i got the Rear springs part number KHRL-59 without the high stress steel X5k and it looks and feels different to one with the high stress steel, it is thinner and springs arnt hard i can compress them a bir with my hands but wit the front ones i cant

is it unsafe to install because the rear springs look unsafe????

the rears wont be unsafe, just softer than the front. get dobinsons or something for the rear. or if its in your budget, get adjustable shocks

Frankie

it will be bouncer at the back wont it

i guess you could say that...it will be most noticable if you have a car full of people.

The rear springs will always be softer then the front unless the Engine is MR, Correct Me if im Wrong.

Frankie

nick_sixx
17-07-2008, 08:37 PM
not saying it wont be fine, but as if a guy from king springs is going to say 'no, king springs are dangerous'. its better to ask around first before you go to the manufacturer.

the rear has less weight over the wheels therefore a softer spring can be used and softer spring = smaller and thinner coil

For the King spring setup the suspension company I went to suggested Koni yellow struts with the install back when I was looking at them, I only didn't get them as Koni springs were also there with a deal at the time. But if you want more drop go the King springs as Koni's are only minimalistic (30-40mm). My front end is low enough that when it parks will hit the parking concrete pieces in the lots with an oem CTR front lip, the back is still too high imo, at times I wish I got the super low springs.

AFAIK the 'M' in KMFL-58A denotes manufacture name. This case it's mazda.
Honda springs they are all 'H'. Get KHFL-58A.

Frankie
24-07-2008, 11:36 AM
yeh mazda or mitsubishi........ but it was a mis print on the springs because the last number dont match the anythign except honda

As has correctly been pointed out, According to King Springs catalog, each manufacturer has its own abbreviation eg. KMFL is for Mazda, KHFL is for Honda, etc.

So this means you got Mazda springs.

Also I got some Lower Springs for my ED (EF). KHFL-58 and KHRL-59 and if you contact King Springs they will tell you the spring rates. Mine were

KHFL-58 : 240lbs/inch or 4.29kg/mm

KHRL-59 : 145lbs/in or 2.59kg/mm

so you can see the rears are always much softer on a front wheel drive car.
