hey guys, the inside of my sunroof is rusting abit, the rust is flaking off....
is this common? also the rubber surround on the sunroof ( outside ) is warping, could that be rust underneath the rubber? has anyone had the same prob?

dude if i was you i wld get this checked out asap, by like a pannel better etc, before it gets any worse, once u got rust it likes to spread pritty easy and if u just have surface rust at the moment it can be prevented and patched so you dont end up wit holes in your roof, thn having to replace the hole roof which will be pritty pricey, also if the rust gets to bad your car may also not pass the pink slip for when u next rego your car.. far as the rubber seal goes ,, yes there cld be rust underneath it just give it a lil push ,if it craks or falls through then u no your in trouble, it also may just be from the sun which you cant really do much about that .. had these problems on my corolla ..hope u have a better understanding and its not to bad

yeah i agree rust is definitely not a good thing get it checked out. also if your rubbers are warping then get them replaced coz them not sealing properly is what may have caused the rust in the first place. i was speaking to a sunroof guy once and he said to avoid the seals dying, to crack the sunroof open a little when its in your garage so that the aren't always compressed and dont go rigid. if you're car gets parked outside like mine then thats really no help but i thought id pass it on anyway. hope your cars all right

a sunroof replacement can cost 1500 depending on what type etc. theres a guy in Dandenong that specialises in that sort of thing if your in that area.

my integra (before I bought my accord euro) had a little bit of surface rust on it, didn't seem to effect the operation of the sun room (only maint I had to do on mine was lubing the rails)
