looks like you need bigger fuse.
your sub is robbing all of the power output.
anyone can confirm this.

I wouldn't think it was fuses, if it were you would be blowing them and your dials wouldnt work at all, my guess is that your sub is drawing more power than your battery can sustain, and on those big hits your getting a voltage drop, causing your dials, and probably your headlights to briefly dim.
What wattage is your sub?
Check your battery is it in good condition?
Upgrading your earth cables can be a good start, If that dont work then a power stiffining cap is another way to fix the problem. Generally 1farad for every 1000 watts peak is more than enough. The capacitor supplies the needed power quickly and then chages up again, resulting in a more constant drain on your system and less voltage drops.

since when do fuses do that? why would a bigger fuse matter... the function of a fuse is to blow according to current limit.

do the rest of your lights flash aswell? might want to consider a larger altinator and battery

got me puzzled.
could need a bigger battery but im not sure.
my ground cables are pretty good.

Any thing using ElectroLuminecent technology is farly sensitive to voltage, looks like it is anything that is causing a large draw on your battery is causing the dials to dim :( . If your sure about your grounds, (if you haven't done the 'Big 3' then i would still start here (http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?TID=73496&PN=1)) then do some research into a voltage stabalizer. These, as the name says, help to stabalize the output voltage of your battery. Different people will say different things about them so best to do your own research to figure out if it is somthing you want to do.
If that dont work then your looking at a new battery and or recon/new alt... things are getting expensive just for El dials... However stable clean power will improve SQ of your sound system and also people report improved engine responsiveness, soo could be worth it...
