Hey everyone

I have just got my FD Civic, I am wanting to get 17 inch wheels on it.

I was just wanting to know, If i put the 17's on with a 215/40/17 will it rub? will i have to roll guards? Because i dont really want low profiles like 205's because i want my ride to be comfortable.

Regards,

Syd FD

i have 215 40 17 and you dont need to roll gaurds and will get no scrapage what so ever, be warned though its a smaller rolling diametre than stock

and also if you dont lower it your car will look like a 4wd as mine did when i first put my rims on :)

hope that helps

i've got 215/45/17. No issues here. My car looks really good without having to lower it.

If you plan to put a body kit on it (like a Mugen kit), you might not wanna lower the car (or lower it by that much).

Mine is 225/35/19 and it use to rub abit going over bumps.
Now it doesnt rub any more; i think it has worn out everything under the fender. LoL

Lowered on kings 3 inches with mugen kit

because youre lowered ;) that's why rub, otherwise 19 with 35 should be fine.

I have 225/40/18 on mine.. lowered with King Springs.. No rubbing whatsoever.. However, If you drive like a rally driver over Bumps and Holes, thats a different story.. Hey Frost Fd, is it hard to drive with your setup (Mugen kit, Lowered + Big Rims)? Cause i'm thinking of putting mugen kit on mine as well.

Yes if you drive on the free way at that speed and go in a hole you will clunk rather then rub... lol ive done it a few times in pot holes.. just avoid them

Overall daily drving over uneven roads is fine... it just rubs it self out. lol
