Hey guys, planning on getting some parts of a mate of mine.
What i get for 2k
- Toda cam gears
- Valve springs
- Spoon head gasket
- Toda Cam a2
All parts brand new

Since i already have I/H/E will these parts be worth getting. And sooner lata get it kpro'd.
What sort of power/gains should i be expecting?
Any advantage/Disadvantages.

Any opinions would be greaty appreciated

Cheers guys

You can only use the exhaust cam gear as u will kill off vtc which once tuned finely will deliver your midrange power band. Toda is a safe brand to use in honda engines so you are on the right track

Sounds like a good buy...
As Phil said, you'll only need the exhaust cam sprocket to get things spot-on.
Without ECU, the gains are small, 4~5kw
With the K-Pro, you'll see 20~25kw in the mid range & around 10~15 in the top end depending on header etc.
The net gain in peak power from the cam alone is really only 7~8kw however.

The down side is the cost of fitting the cams together with the head gasket.
Though the thinner head gasket will deliver sharper top end power, it does add considerably to the instalation cost.
You would save a significant amount of money fitting the springs & cams without removing the head.

Word of caution,
Be sure to check they are Spec A2's as Spec A3's are no good with std ECU.
That is you risk engine damage with Spec A3 & std ECU.
Spec A2 is no problem with std ECU

how come only the exhaust cam gear is used since most companies offer both?
also how much would it cost ( roughly ) to intsall a set up like this?

K seies are set up differently than other honda engines. VTC (variable timing camshaft) allows the ecu to advance/retard the inlet camshaft via a duty cycled solenoid. Take that option away by fitting a fixed gear and losses will be noticed.

What kind of intake, headers, exhaust you have?

Mayb try RBC manifold, bigger throttle body (spoon, BDL), Kpro + decent tune.

But the list of mods mention sounds good. But have you budget to get it installed? I would think you wont get much change from 1k.
