ok i did some research and it looks like ur car would most probably be 1999 or 2000 VTi-R coupe...
now i know a lot of you people dont like redbook but its what we have for now.
so, for 1999 here are the guidelines
Red Book Code HOND99VA
1999 HONDA CIVIC
Coupe VTi-R 2dr Man 5sp 1.6i (Apr onwards)
average kms 90,000 - 110,000
trade in price guide* $14,100 - $16,500
national average price - private sale* $15,900 - $18,800
price when new (RRP) $31,500
for 2000, here are the guidelines
Red Book Code HOND00SJ
2000 HONDA CIVIC
Coupe VTi-R 2dr Man 5sp 1.6i
average kms 75,000 - 95,000
trade in price guide* $15,300 - $17,900
national average price - private sale* $17,200 - $20,200
price when new (RRP) $30,100

had at look at redbook.com.au
seems abit unreliable.
on the site is valued the Integra type R as follows
1999 HONDA INTEGRA
MY2000 Coupe Type R 2dr Man 5sp 1.8i (Oct onwards)
average kms 70,000 - 90,000
trade in price guide* $17,000 - $19,600
national average price - private sale* $19,000 - $22,300
price when new (RRP) $39,950
2000 HONDA INTEGRA
Coupe Type R Sport 2dr Man 5sp 1.8i (Sept onwards)
average kms 55,000 - 65,000
trade in price guide* $19,500 - $22,500
national average price - private sale* $21,800 - $25,300
price when new (RRP) $39,990
William I would say its worth slightly higher, there is a goodwill attach to the EM1. There isn't many around and for sale.

All Coupes are not VTiRs. The Coupe also came in GLi form.

He'd probably get $18k-$19.5k if it were in Melbourne. and yes there are GLi 99-00 coupes and man they look shizen.

im still inbetween deciding at the moment...
option 1 is to sell and buy a type R, if i do i doubt it will be now...possibly in 3 months or so....
another option is...
swap cars with my brother....(he has a 2002 corolla hatch with 30000km) and sell the corolla for 18k ...use that money plus borrow prolly 7-8k for the type R.........
whats peoples opinion on that? i know this is a honda forum and every honda guy is biased including me. but is it really worth the $8000 to upgrade the car to a type R?
and YES im in sydney..
I just think it all comes down to which car you like more. Personally, I prefer the Civic cos I'm not a Teg fan. Performance wise, of course the Type R is going to be better on the track, but how often do you plan to track the car, if at all?
On the streets, I dare say that the Type R isn't noticeably faster than the VTi-R.
The choice is yours.
William

yeah im gonna go test drive to some DC2R this week and see how fast and good it really is..
you guys think i can sell my car for 20k straight up? i mean its in immaculate condition may have 2 or so rock dents but thats as far as damage goes to the car.
yeah i actually plan to go track...havnt been but its a big thing on my list of things to do.

dude u hav below average kms and its stock. as long as its in good nic inside and out go for at LEAST $23000
i saw a coupe VTiR 120,000+kms, not in very good nic for $22000
Coupe VTiR only came out in 1999 and 2000. all other year coupes are GLi or VTi.
cheers

William

$23000? thats a bit excessive....i highly doubt anyone would pay that much for the car.....
i would be surprised to get 21k

im a bit bias cos i have one but i would neva sell below 21k... i only hav 50,000km on mine.
a VTiR engine has 25kw over d vti n more ova d gli. if its not VTiR coupe its probably worth less den 18k Alpine...
William: i searchd hard for my coupe n ive seen big range of prices, but ive neva seen one below 20k... this includes coupes with 100,000+kms
hope dat helps
cheers

No, it's not a VTi-R unfortunately. :(
Still a Coupe though! :P
definitely over $20,000 (depending on condition.............i'm a bit biased since i'm a coupe owner...........hehehe).

Is it up already on carsales? $23500

28-09-2004, 04:27 PM
vti-R has so much over the other coupes (gli, vti). dont forget you want to ask for more than your expecting, so ask for 23,000 or so as the buyer is gonna want to bargain. frankly i woudn't take less than $20k. there aren't many (only a handful here in perth) around so buyers can't go bargaining you off against others too easy. if someone is set on one they are going to be prepared to a pay a bit of a premium for its rarity
William
28-09-2004, 05:22 PM
nope not mine.....
for a period, i saw alot going on carsales
not as often these days
William
28-09-2004, 05:28 PM
whats stupid about this car is the ranges are so wide.....some go for 16k, some go for 23k
yeah i know the km are different but its still a big variation
