93 ACCORD INSPIRE

the ol' 5cyl 2L isnt cutting it for me. dont know wether i should tweak it or just throw a new engine in there.

im guessing that not much would go into it as the origy didge engine is a north to south apposed engine.(one of many things i didnt understand with honda)

anyone know what would be good fitment and pack a punch in the inspire?

cheers, peeman

actually all d b h f(notf20c) are counterclockwise motor. please correct me if i left one out.

and if im not mistaken. a h22a should be a drop in with accords. just change mounts and electricals. n gbox i think :/

no honda engine is 5 cylinders.
either 4, 6 or 8 (with the upcoming nsx)

easy solution?
turbo.
itll be enough for ya until you sit in a 11-10second car. then youll want more.

I would love to see a pic of your engine bay.. i believe the Inspires were never sold in Australia..did you have it imported??

I drive a cb7( 4th gen)... only engines that came standard in a cb7 where f22's..if it didnt come wif an f22.. then its not a cb7

1)
correct you are, no accord came in rwd..doesnt mean it couldnt be Longitudely aposed.

2)
'origy didge' = aussie slang for orignial.

3)
what engine can i drop in?/what can i fit up. my apologies, im asian though you get it.

4)
yes it is a 5cyl. i can count..5 fingers on my hand...5 different sprak plugs a had to change a month ago.

Dare I say you could go the F20C (S2000 engine & box) being Longitude apposed.

Get a hammer & beat the shit out of the floor pan lol.

On a serious note if your Asian you should be able to find .jp sites regarding this.

We like your car but have never owned/come across 1 until now as it not an AUDM model.

Well, you learn something new every day. thanks for clearing that up

Whatever engine you chose there is going to be alot of custom work involved.

Unique ride here though

cheers bud.

head hurts just thinking about the engine. but i may aswell keep it.

either that or swap the car for something i can work with.

but i was told there were heaps on the east coast.

is it rear wheel drive?? having the motor mounted that way and all??

If it is then you could possibly use the s2000 engine with some custom mounts, hand electrical work and some patience.

Other option is to get a different car (less of a headache thats for sure, but alot less unique)

or custom turbo kit ftw.! ;)

front wheel drive..heck knows what honda were thinking to build such a car like this. other wise its a great engine. standard with a K&N filter and roars like crazy.

hrmm, guess ima have to sell it. great car though. but i wont get what its worth since its imported jdm spec.

would look great as a VIP car though.

i dont wanna see her gone though..gotta be another way.

haha, well im thinking of importing a new engine. another 5cyl but go for the 2.5 lt manual variant(g25a). add some goodies later on.

engine at the moment is a g20a if anyone knows about it.

cheers for the ideas lads.

Rebuild the 5 cyl and do a wire tuck while its out

that sounds like a good idea.:thumbsup:

Just looked up the specs of the engine. Its got 118kw at the fly (same as a b16a) but max power is at 6700 RPM.

Should be a half descent engine if looked after.:thumbsup:

being rare isnt always a great thing. being honda its already exspensive not to mention the fact that its imported.

ive come to realize that the power kicks in the high end, but i cant wait to find a manual g25a. i think ima have to try an acura vigor for the engine though. (american import(N))

just had a read up on the engine more, its got an electronically controlled hydraulic engine mount to keep the engine harmonically balance (cause its 5cylinder). so make sure that is in good condition when you do your swap.

cheers jason.

i havent actually done much research on the car as im a fulltime student in my final year of school. but you guys are great help.

so its g25a halfcut ftw. think i need new mounts anyways =S

Err you fail :thumbdwn:

A lot of people here fail.

I'll second the opinion that you should keep the current engine and do what bolt ons you can. Make your car a hot version of the super-rare Inspire instead of a Honda Mongrel

Yeah, the cars off the road now due to current projects soon to take place. Engine wise, im slowly finnancing a half cut of the g25 model since mines clocked up to many Ks for my liking (156,***) and i gain .5 litres.

So yeah soon to go a JDM VIP style car.

A lot of people here fail.

HAHA, cheers for that back up mate.
