hey guys esp. dc5r owners just today i noticed that there is alot of space between the gear knob and the shift boot i was wondering whether this is normal or is there something wrong with mine?
i tried to push the shift boot up but it wont move at all. if this is unusual can anyone give me advice on how to fix it :S

cheers

Your gear knob isn't the same as mine. My boot sits kinda about the same position as you. but because my gear knob is longer, the gap isn't as noticeable.

Only decent photo i got.

my shift boot has red stitching instead of black like your one but i can move mine up. i think you've got a fn2r/fd2r knob

Because its a Civic type R gear knob so its shorter....therefore the space is more then normal DC5R gear knob......also only blue DC5R with non Red stitching shift boot......also the steeling wheel have no red stitching as well.....To get it fix change it back to a DC5R gear knob......lol

K20 uses cable shift box. You can't but a shorter shifter.

Short shifter doesn't mean the gear stick is shorter.....for DC5

for FD2R gear knob, you need FD2R spacer to make the gear knob sit short.
if not (use stock spacer), the FD2R gear knob will sit high.
and the spacer/nut isn't cheap.
