I have had excessive movement from my previous mounts so decided to install the spoon mounts for my daily drive DC2R.
Last night Ben from Touge Tune toiled till all hours of the morning changing my engine mounts. You can instantly see the siffness of these mounts when trying to align the engine - the old mounts could be moved easily however the new mounts required alot more man power to move.
As soon as you hop in and start the car for the first time you feel instantly the increase in vibration. Its not over the top - but Im glad I chose the Spoon over the solid mounts. (Any more than this for a daily would be too much - but thats just me)
It has made the car sound louder and more engaging which I like.
It just feels that your more in contact with the engine. Say.. Engine feel? Hard to explain.
When reving the engine - there is slim to none movement in the engine bay as opposed to before when the engine used to rock back and forth.
When driving there is minimal engine movement and gear changes are more solid.
There is less play in the engine so there is increased clutch feel.
I can not say that there is one definate area which has improved dramatically - its more of an all rounder thing - the car just seems more alive.
Steering, throttle response, pedal communication - everything has improved.
Would definately recommend the spoon mounts for a daily drive for those who just want that little bit more confidence and support for their engine/gearbox/drivetrain without the excessive vibrations of solid mounts. http://forums.clubitr.com.au/images/smilies/thumb.gif
