try philips xtreme power or osram night breaker (10% whiter than the philips or stock).

I'm happy with Narva +50. Has been on the car for 2 years. Stock colour and brighter.

yep! :)

went from Stock --> MTEC --> 6000k halo --> 7000k halo --> 5000k halo --> Narva +30% --> Narva +50% --> Philips X-Treme --> Osram Nightbreaker --> Philips X-Treme

Narva +50% is the best ADR APPROVED light you can get in Aus... best bang for buck... just that the X-tremes just provided far more usable light over a better range.. and i don't see myself getting in trouble with em as they don't have a blue tinge

btw my test area is a very long down hill on the pac hwy going north at night time :p

Hmm... is that to say the Philips Xtremes are non ADR approved? Like is it a defectable modification?

thats correct and so is the entire osram range and the rest of those stupid halogens like MTEC and PIAA and anything else that has a blue coat on them + anything above the Philips VisionPlus range as it is the only ADR approved one.

The linky I posted above explains why blue coated lights are ilegal and unsafe... I don't know for the life of me why people get them...

Thanks again for that info!

re bluish white lights, I totally agree.. I remember back in the day just buying a front light for my pushie- saw one of the LED offerings was incredibly bright (white)- bought it and put it on the front- was shocking how little it really illuminated the path, yet viewed from the front it was intolerably glaring.

+1 vote for Philips XTreme, probably the best halogens out there. They really do light up the road nicely & cops won't give you trouble as well.

A pair of Philips X-Treme H4 bulbs arrived today.. guess what. Wrong bulbs lol :( I failed to take into account the fact my angel eyes units don't use H4 bulbs like standard EKs.. :(( I was so looking forward to shiny new lights. Thinking I'll have to sell them..

lol that sux, i had the same prob on one of my housings... had a jdm one piece on side for some reason that used the smaller H4s.. ended up just getting new one-piece housings altogether :p

so x-treme over nightbreaker?
yeah bro... i wrote a quick review about pros/cons in post#10 here:

nightbreakers are still good though... doesn't look blinding blue like other halogens going around on the road.
