View Full Version : unequal/equal length headers for dc5
im just wondering if any of u exhaust experts who have 1st hand experience can tell me what brands have the most untuned/unequal length headers and which brands would be the most equal. i can assume brands like x-force would be more towards unequal lengths while brands like dc-sports would be the opposite. question probly sounds stupid lol but i just wanna hear first hand some reviews on sound and performance to see if theres a big difference after all. i've heard the x-force headers give a 'wrx' like sound but ive never heard it myself so id like to find out more. :cool:

x-force headers are shite. they make you lose power over factory. if your running stock ecu, maximworks is a good upgrade as the header design gives the k-series the low to mid-range power that it lacks whilst making good top-end power also. and it also sounds like there's a bee buzzing under the bonnet when you accelerate. hope that helps

yea, im after a unique sounding header that gives me decent gains as well. just sussin out wat brands
if any1 can post sound clips and/or dyno graphs of their setups or one's they kno of id appreciate it :)

For sure i know first hand, k20a2 with toda a2 cams tuned with xforce headers 138kw@wheels, back to factory audm headers tuned 145kw. If i can find the graph i will show you (2yrs ago). I know different day and all that bull. Mid-range was horrid. Lost to stock k20a2 with intake/ exhaust (no header) + tuned. After back to stock headers, beat same car by 1.5 cars and increasing.
SSR headers if you can be bothered importing form US.
Otherwise TODA un touched headers.
