View Full Version : Civic FD Mugen Front Lip bracket same as Hondas? T.T
hi guy,
i got myself a rep. mugen kit, and unfortunately there is a set of screws and bracket short for the front lip.
just wondering does the original honda front lip kit comes with brackets and screws to hold it in place? if so, are they the same as the Mugen ?
if they are the same, could i just get a set from the honda dealer (i mean will they sell them separately with out the kit)? :(
Cheers

Dude, most replica kits only come with normal screws that screw to the base bumper. If you were to buy OEM kits then indeed they will come with all the screws, bolts, brackets and all for you to fit it on perfectly. :)
Just bear in mind that replica kits also sometimes does not fit 100%.
Hope that helps.

auto plat is a legit shop. What xqwzit meant by not getting it from him is that the side skirts does not fit properly. But he claims that it does. They sit exactly the same way as "Rk 86 wa" but cannot go any higher. (check Your mods to 2006-2007 fd civics thread).
So if you like the way it sits, then go for it. If you want it to sit like this (below), then dont get it. My preference is below and looking to get new skirts. The front and rear fits perfectly. Comes with all brackets required.

i have my kit fitted yesterday, took me 3+ hours. ( first time DIY fitting a kit):p
surprisingly the kit fit perfectly, but 4 brackets missing for the front lip. :(
btw, do i need to squeeze some glue on the edge of the kit? i have provided with a little bottle of glue, but no idea where to use it.
i havent have the kit painted yet. so, will it too early to put the glue on?
when i take it for paint, will they remove the kit for me to paint?
i'll post some pics up later.
thanks Shimian, i asked the seller and will get the brackets in the coming week. ;)

i wouldnt bother putting it on. If the painter removes the kit for you, they might charge you extra, especially if its taped/glued up. Im not sure where the glue goes but yes, i would think it would be on the edges just before the screws.
