If you don't have any oil leaks, Hami LPG at Blacktown can do blueslips. He did mine.

Not sure. On Sunnyholt Rd, just before the BP station? Behind that old blue petrol station. Hehe, passed my coilovers, pod and underbraces. But he hates oil leaks and will even fail your pink slip if you have an oil leak. ahahah

ive heard of it before
and wth is a green slip?
trism
14-10-2008, 04:21 PM
oh man youre so ****ing young
a greenslip is compulsive third party insurance. its printed on greenpaper
a blueslip is a roadworthy inspection. done by registered workshops, its done if a car runs out of rego, and you wanna get it re regoed, example. the car is off the road gettin repaired. they do a full on check of EVERYTHING to make sure the car is alright. blue paper
a pinkslip is what you need each year for cars more than 5 years old to get rego. take i to a mechanic, they check the brakes, blinkers, horn, and check for no major leaks, and there you go. called so cz its on pink paper

sorry guys, coz i moved from brisbane to sydney, that is why im confused LOL...
my cars is 3 years old now, so do i still need a pink slip or just the blue slip will do?
and i have an intake in my car which im lazy to take out, so am better off just looking for some "easy" place to get the slip/paper

pink slip - does not require a engineering certificate prior to getting it, they only check the functionality of the car as long as it doesn't affect the safety of the car in anyway it's fine.
Cause i had a SRI pod filter on my euro and they said it's fine.
But if a cop pulls you and inspects your car it's a different story.
Cops give the blue slip(infraction for legality of parts under NSW law) so you have to get it cleared. <--- correct me if i am wrong on this as i havent gotten one before.

no youve got it backwards. the blueslip is the major one you need when the runs out of rego and you want to get it regoed again
the pinkslip is what you need each year.
but your car is only 3 years old, i dont think you do..
best to ask the RTA

14-10-2008, 11:18 PM
blue slip is required if the car is out of rego for over 3 months, if its not rego'd and its within the 3 months all you need it pink slip
trism
14-10-2008, 11:23 PM
nope, incorrect
doesnt matter how long its out of rego for you need a blueslip
i can assure you of this, i was int eh situation a little over 2 months ago
the car was out of rego for like, a week
na-118
14-10-2008, 11:26 PM
so what your trying to say, if the cars out of rego for 1 week you will need blue slip?
trism
14-10-2008, 11:28 PM
yes, thats what i was told by the RTA.
na-118
14-10-2008, 11:30 PM
nah mate, your a clown, if its out of rego and its gone beyond 3 months you need pink slip, if its out of rego but under 3 months without rego all yuo need is pink slip
Henessaayyy
14-10-2008, 11:31 PM
check rta site, clearly states you require a blue slip if your car has been unregistered for over 3 months, if its within the 3 month period, you require a pink slip...
if you fail either of them, you'll need a white slip
trism
14-10-2008, 11:33 PM

a clown? wtf? fcuk you mate, all im doing is going off what the RTA told me

yes, thats what i was told by the RTA.
My friend, i think you got it wrong
Pink slip is required to renew your rego.
If your car if 5yrs old, doesnt require pink slip , any car after that needs pink slip.
Blue slip is the major check up, if ur car is out of rego for 3 months then you need a blue slip to get rego.
Bro i had my car out of rego for 1 week and i got a pink slip
I got rego 2weeks from now, Unless the rta change the rules since then

sorry to dig such an old thread up. just got my car from Perth to Sydney with registration to WA. Would I need to get a pink slip or a blue slip? Any suggestion for an easy blue slip as I have coilovers in my car. Any advice through PMs will be greatly appreciated. And also, would I be able to transfer my remaining rego over to Sydney. Pretty new to this. Thanks in advance
grifty

you need a blueslip after you have got a blueslip you purchase a greenslip then go to the RTA where you will have to pay for rego and plates. You also need to hand in your old plates and you will be issued with a refund for the WA rego.
if you have coilovers i suggest raise them to their maximum height so no part of the body is below 100mm from the ground.

J&D Jenson at Ingleburn, nice guy friendly service, always busy. If you got minor probs he will let u off, he will check for leaks and brakes, he passed my civic with the loudest exhaust and 18inch rims in the front, 14 inchs at the back lol tipped him 5 bucks lol. It cost me 55.20 something like that gave him 60 lol.
