I have a set of HSD HS coilovers that are siezed up. No-one in town will touch them. So I was talking to some guys from work and the suggested because I can't get anything for them why not give a DIY rebuild a go.
Is this possible? I'm concerned about the gas/hydraulic fluid in the shock mainly. Anything else related?

Can't you go back to the retailer? I thought their ads all say rebuildable and they should be able to direct you someone who can.

Another thing to consider, sometimes its cheaper to just buy a replacement tube than to rebuilt them.

Sorry, I bought them second hand, and no Suspension Specialist in my area will touch HSD.
Im trying not to lose anymore money on them so I was just looking into a rebuild DIY stylez.

similar boat as you for just getting advice and info about HSD coils.

i tried emailing main office otomoto.com.au and honestly, they are the worst customer service you can get for aftermarket support on a product. about 3-4 emails and up to 12 weeks (since april) and got no response.

what sussy placs in VIC did you try mate?

As they're gas shocks, I'm guessing the cost of the equipment needed to service them would cost much more.

But good luck

I am in Central Victoria. Just tried my local tyre/suspension places. To be honest I think there is only 2 places in town that would have any idea and one of them is Pedder's.

What kind of equipment are we talking about?

exactly.

do not attempt to "rebuild" or take apart gas filled shocks yourself. they can explode or suddenly vent and cause bodily harm. They need to be captive in a machine to properly vent the gas and then take em aparrt etc.

NOT a diy thing.

Mmm I was going to try to find somewhere to have them regassed. I thought I might be able to clean up the valves etc myself if it was possible.

Thanks for the help guys. Im gunna leave them alone.
