Excuse my ignorance, but where do these "identifiers" of the current and previous Euros come from?

I have just purchased the "new" Euro and can't find any reference anywhere (ie purchase order, user manual, rego certificate) to "CU2" but I assume from threads on here, that is what I have.

Isn't it on the compliance plate with the VIN?

Look at your vehicle VIN number. It should be JHMCU2xxxxxxxxx. The previous Accord Euro has JHMCL9xxxxxxxxxxx instead.

Ah, yes I can see that, but seems a bit obscure to me. No matter, at least now I can understand and join in the appropriate discussion threads.

Thanks.

On Honda Japan's website, the spec page of any model explicitly states the model code of the car as well. They don't do that on Honda Australia's website because they don't have as wide a range. For example, for the previous Euro we had only the CL9, but in Japan, they have CL7, CL8 and CL9 for sedans and CM1, CM2 for wagons.

mainly it should be on your built/birth plate inside your engine bay located on your left front passenger strut tower.

Can someone confirm that the compliance plate on the CU2 is in the same place? I can't find mine on the top of the strut tower, or anywhere else in the engine bay!
