where to mount splits?

where are people putting the speaker in EK/EJ/EMs

i dont particularly want to drill a hole on the door.

hook us up with some ideas!

On mine, i'm planning to put the woofer on the stock location while the tweeter on the bottom of A pillar.

Should mount your tweeters on the A pillars...

If possible, aim them to ear level to the spot between driver and passenger heads

this will give you the best stereo sound.

crossovers should put in your door so it is hidden and speakers just replace the stock ones on the front

mine are mounted really neatly opposite my mirros facing the windscreen works really well aye.

if you want a no fuss install that is cheaply reversed i would suggest the kick panels like my old car. pic for you

it will create great imaging but a low soundstage.

if the best in sound quality is what your after then let your ears decide. get some blu tac play with some different spots eg. a pillar, behind mirror. top of door card, near, speaker, kick panel etc. i suggest the kicks because they are easy to take off and cut and replace with one from the wreckers or just get one from the wreckers to play with.

mounting the tweeter where the kick panel imo is really dumb. lol so ur feet can listen to the music..

mount the tweeter on the triangle part on the door the garnish part. behind the mirrors of the door

yeah so far seems like best place is the triangle part opposite the side mirror.

kick panel is not dumb. the speaker is just next to it. it will surprize you how well it performs down there. hey i'm no audio noob but hey up to you. i would recommend low on the a pillar with tweets pointing at opposite headrests but hey what do i know?

^^ dude i get what ur saying.. i bought a car with tweets down where the kick panel was.. i moved them up to the a pillar area sounds better..

but yeah reason why the SQ in splits are better than coaxial speakers is that the treble is separated from the midwoofer.. and that u get clear crisp sound and not different frequencies coming out from the one area..

553XX this ur car dude? where/who did u get to custom that bottom bit for the double din screen?

ive alwasy wanted double din wiht out spedning big bucks on the jdm dash. i would just lose the cup holders.

ive got mine flat on the ends of the dash pointing to the windscreen... and mine sound great... but then everyones muscial tastes are different, if you point them to your ears, you are limiting where you get the full wave of your music... if that makes sense...
