When the timing belt gets done the waterpump is usually done at the same time correct?

Looking at my log book the previous owner changed the timing belt at 65xxxkm but didnt change the waterpump.

The car is now sitting on 100xxxkm I was wondering if the waterpump really needs to be changed at around this time? I remember reading that waterpump+timing belt is usually changed at 100xxxkm.

will it die on me sometime in the near future?

thanks!

when changing the timing belt, the waterpump should be done as well.
saves any hassle, gets it all done in one go.
personally, i would change the waterpump sometime soon, just to be safe.
my brother had the same situation with his VL commodore a few years back, he decided that since he was changing the waterpump, he may as well re-do the timing belt as well, that way in the future he would just change the 2 at the same time.
since the timing belt and water pump are particularly hard to get into (especially on honda's) it makes it easier if things are done at the one time.

good luck with it all.

soulchild's right
belt has to come off anyway, it's only ~$80 for the belt and you're paying for the labour already anyway so may as well

you mean stock waterpump ? and 100,000ks ?
water pumps only really get replaced when they fail. IE 180+ 000ks with normal use or earlier for a thrashed car. my engine with 110,000 is still original water pump

ohhh i see...so the main reason why people change it at 100xxxkm with their timing belt is cause of conveinece. otherwise the waterpump with normal use will last quite awhile?

sums it up.

like replacing a flywheel , when replacing the clutch. Its financially 2 birds with one stone.
