Would be looking at your accelerator cable / throttle body, open up the bonet, and manually operate it and see where its struggling, then lube up the cable with some all purpose grease or some silicone spray/WD 40 (I prefer silicone because its not a strong oil based, so if you do overspray a the TB a little, it wont be as bad imo. that would be the first thing to look at

could also be one of the pivots for the accelerator pedal under the dash.

or the cable could be too tight, but thats unlikely to happen over time, unless the locknut was loose ---- at the throttle body, where the cable connects to it,make sure there is a little slack there,it should not be tight and holding the butterfly open at all

Maybe you should stop trying to turn your car on.

WD40 is not a good lube.

i'd say the cable inside has frayed somehow and is getting caught
if worse comes to worst just replace the cable with another

My friend had problem with throttle getting stuck. Turn out the throttle body had to be changed as the springs and shaft where all corroded.

carbon buildup around the very edge of your throttle butterfly CAN give this issue. It gunks up and prevents smooth operation of the throttle butterfly , throttle cable and thus accelerator feel.

fix by

take off intke arm.
get a old tooth brush. get a spray can of carby cleaner. leave the engine OFF
get a friend to depress teh accell. to full throttle (WOT) and then spray a few sprays into and around the throttle body and throttle butterfly. Use the tooth brush to scrub in and around the throttle body too. After a good scrub , spray a couple more times and let it sit for a few minutes to dry. Wipe out with a clean cloth to remove excess if need be.
reinstall intake arm , start car. It may need a couple of turns t get going , normal. It will chug alittle but will become normal again in a few minutes of idle.

lol i know its stupid i used to have a single carb one before and it used to have a really soft one but i think because this one has 2 carbs to open up ethier that or somthing needs lube on it.

its time to clean ur throttle body...the carbon just stop the batterfly moving in ur throttle body....also put some oil in ur throttle cable....oil just like engine oil or wd40...

Doesn't have a throttle body because its a carb engine thats why i was asking what else it could be.

the carb engine have a throttle body...all u can do is take off ur black intake fillter box, if ur one is eg gl then u can see it, it black siting next to the fire wall, its going to be a little hard to get ur hands in....and there is a lot of small vacuum hose...
after u take off the intake box,u can see ur throttle body i think there is 2 of them, they face to the fire wall...thats all i can tell....clean them with carb cleaner....
anyway u have to check wat is stoping ur throttle body operate.....
good luck!
