Hey guys,

I'm mounting some volks on my s2k. The front and rear dimensions are 17x8 + 44 and 17x9 + 44 respectively. Upon examination, it became apparent that the wheel studs are relatively too short for my alloy wheel nuts. I contacted a tyre shop and they redirected me to wheel revoultion (located in moss st). The staff who attended to me was very helpful and suggested that either I extend my wheel studs, or buy the correct nuts. However, the correct nuts were priced at $5.50 each, which accumulated to $110 for a set. My question is, do you guys think this is a reasonable price? If not, do you know someone who can source them at a cheaper price?

Ivan at Hi Power Racing, also on Moss St.

I just bought a set of black Rays lugs for $180. *shrugs*

^ Yeah, these aren't exactly branded lug nuts. They're the same as the nuts depicted in my original post, but thread pattern to suit hondas. I think the nuts originally came off a nissan. Stock alloy nuts for $110 a set seems pretty pricey to me. Ill check with ivan tomorrow anyways. thanks brad.

yeah that sound about right, i dont really expect to pay any less then $80-$90 retail. for a proper set of nuts + maybe a tiny bit more for a set of 4 lock nuts aswell.

Honestly, if it was safter for for me to have $100 or even $200 nuts on my car, i'd buy them.
whats an extra 50-100 bucks for piece of mind.

remember they are the only things keeping your wheels on.

^ Thanks for your input snks2k. Yeah I don't mind paying extra for quality parts and piece of mind. Just thought I'd check with you guys first, as it seemed quite expensive for stock alloy nuts to be priced as much as aftermarket rays. Looks like I'll just end up buying them; thanks guys!

I put the Rays nuts on this afternoon as I sold my old wheels and the owner needed the new lugs.

The black looks so much better on the RGR's!

civic em1 which model is that... i dont think i've ever seen it before and those look like the stickers that go on the TE-37 model.
I know some model rims have to run a different type of nut, for example the GT-c has its own nut and lock and cant use the normal rays nuts. Maybe contact rays and ask them.

Poor picture, but you get the general idea.

They're volks AV3 - only a handful in the country. Yeah, I'll have to use the gt-c nuts. Some of the nissan boys have the same problem sourcing the correct nuts (internal drive); http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Volk-Racing-Av3-Wheel-Nut-t219668.html

Furthermore, its extremely difficult to source the correct thread size in this style of nut for hondas, as the wheels' offset are manufactured to suit to nissan vehicles (different stud diameter). Supply and damand I guess.

I've decided to purchase the correct nuts from rays. Just waiting on a quote and confirmation that they actually manufacture them in the 12 x 12.5mm dimension.

^ Looking good ludecrs. Makes the wheels look tougher!

Vyets,

If you had the opportunity to design wheels for an s2k, what widths and offsets would you use, and why?

I bought the correct nuts and test fitted the rims to my car. The rear offsets are sex in my opinion. Would have liked the fronts to be more aggressive than they are. Also ordered a set of volks centrecaps.

Looks the goods em1, gotta lower it now :) love the center caps.
I wouldn't design a wheel for a s2000, but I'm a fan of lower offsets obviously not stupidly low. I wish the s2000 could fit concaved TE37's on a stock body that would be awesome, at least just the rears and without running super stretched tyres.

LOL @ +80ish offset wtf? +80 on the 10.5inch wheel will most likely if not come very close to rubbing the inside wheel well. Wonder if advan ever made rg's with a offset that high.

Did a quick search to see if anyone was running that type of a setup found afew lol

Full drag setup right there lol.

Anyway abit off here :D I might get banned lol.
