My dad hit a bmw 3 series full on while reversing, The back of the euro hit the front of the bmw. The bmw had a big dent but surprisingly the euro only had a very slight scratch. weird eh! or is it just honda.

generally the front of the cars are built to crumple, the rears are built to absorb shocks from people reversing into things, they are usually made of flexible plastic.

My old 85 civic before i got the ED, ran up the back of a VS commodore when I was on my P's and did 12Grand damage.... only cost me $400 to fix the civic :D

Good to see the euro has kept up with the honda tradition :D

I think the Euro and most new Hondas now have impact absorbing flexi bumpers or something...

yes the rear is very flexible. you can push it right in with your handa, thats probly why there is no damage.

car fronts have crumple zones which r designed to do just that, crumple, when they r hit. its to absorb more of the impact, to protect the object ur hitting (ie. a person in some cases).

In 1996 I reversed a 94/95 two door ledgend into the front of a brand new 1996 Accord, it was a fair wack, before I got out of the Ledgend I thought to myself, Im dead, the Accord is rooted and the Ledgend is gonna cost heaps to fix as the noise was quite loud. when I got out and had a look to my amaizment there was no damage on either cars. we took the bumpers off both cars to be 100 % sure. The polystyrone type material they put in there on the beam absorbs alot of the impact. Honda have always been know for wining awards for low speed impact type crashes by the NRMA.
