hey guys im new here.
have been looking for a dc5r for a while. i prefer a championship white one but theres not many out there and also in good condition.
just went to see a red one today. it has done 72ks on the clock and almost everything stock except a aftermarket intake and exhaust(i cant see what brand are they)
price is now $23,000. is it worth buying it?
any other stuff should be checked on a dc5r?
thank you all in advance, really need some help. cant wait to join the itr family

what year model?
check the service history. conditon of seats and stuff like that just so you kno how the owner treated the car.
have a proper feel of the gears. if they go in smoothly just things like that really.rego? price imo seems good.
please if ur really serious abt the car. get it checked out, revs and shit like that and also get it inspected i prefer state roads they a little expensive but worth the piece of mind.
good luck with the buy.

thanks dude.
the guy selling it has full service history from 48,000km till now(48ks when he bought it) but there is no log book which means i dont hav past record until 48000ks.
rego is ended by the end of this year.
just wondering who and where can i go for car inspections in mel?
thank you

are you in any rush of getting a car?? if not..i'd recommend waiting..coz i was in your position not too long ago.
was looking for a CW dc5r with low k's and good condition. i found one with low k's and good condition..just not CW..decided to get it.
now i wouldn't mind selling up to get a CW one or even better..a CW ep3..just don't have the funds. haha
depends how bad u want CW though..guess i wanted it quite bad LOLOL

yeh seriously money is the first thing. i dont have 25k+ for a better CW dc5r or ep3. maybe just buy a red one for now and save up and wait. lol

I reckon the colour is not as important as the condition of the vehicle itself.....I was aiming for get a cw but end up getting a AB DC5R.....hency you have a tight budget you should look carefully b4 you go ahead to buy it....Red looks hot too so dun worry too much about colour......best of luck to find ur dream car bro....

thanks bro. i have already talked to myself about the colour. just let CW go.
red is also good. black recaro looks more clean than red ones. haha.
most important thing is the condition of the motor. so an professional inspection is needed b4 i pay the money. one of the trader here would help for cheaper price than state roads.

state roads is awesome you can buy with confidence after they have done their checks.
they will do all the background checks you need aswell e.g. REVS check, V-Check. i think it cost me $220 to get my last one done. it may be wise to give the guy a deposit pending the inspection though that can make it difficult to negotiate price after inspection.
again what year model is it? i dont believe you ever told us?
i recon they look sic on red as well, though red does have a tendency to fade if you leave it outside and dont look after it. white ones are the most sort after also so you will pay more for it.
hope this helps.

thanks bro. i was considering to get states roads.
it is a 2002 model, has done 72000ks and selling for $23,000. so as i can see the car is in good condition and with faily low ks and a good price. so i am trying to accept the red colour.
hey toto, im in a similair situation actually, does anyone know if there is a state roads sorta service in SA? or is anyone on here a position that they could look thro a car for me? i know enough about driving a car to know if something up, but i have this fear ill get it and find out that the tranny only has a year left in it or something like that. im lookin at the same car, DC5R black 2002 with 131000ks for $20500, im in a bit of a rush and there arent many in sa for around the 20 mark

you can always get one from another state. my mate got a car from melb and had it shipped to syd and only cost 300$
if your in to much of a rush. as the seller if you can take the car to a mechanic or something like that. he might need a deposit 1st but seriously dnt by without gettin the car checked 1st.
as for your question abt who can check your car. google it or just go into the rta and as them if they kno of any places that do that.
thanks for the input fuzz, if there are any mechs or such on here give me a pm.
only problem with going interstate is i cant drive it personally first which is a bit troublesome.

you can always drive down with a few mate. have a road trip. good fun. dun it before
u can maybe save a little for and if u find one thats a little more expensive try renegotiate the price.
na i work mon-thurs and sat, so split weekend, would be a one day there, one day back thingo, im gonna try locally first see how i go

no worries man. but yeh just ask the rta or who ever is in charge of road and traffic down there who does vehicle inspection. or even and insurance company
private sellers should have to do wat dealers have to do and get it certified and checked before it can be put on the market, that would be awsome.

f@#K oath.. if u see a car u like in another state. send state road or some one like that to go inspect it.
ya thats true, but theres a difference between reliablity and feel, i know lots of really realiable cars who feel like terd to drive....not that ive ever driven a terd...but...ya...u know...
it will be my plan c for sure tho
