D16Y1 and D16Y4 Gearbox compatibility....

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the gbox out of a EG VTI civic will fit into an EK CXI?....they are both d series single cams, and i know the d16a8 (civic SI) box fits into a d16y4 but i dont know whether the d16y1 gbox will fit onto a d16y4....im assuming it will....

it probably will but why would you want to use a old gearbox in your car

a gearbox is a gearbox...an old one could be in better condition than a new one? depends on the life and how its been treated...not much difference from a 96 ek to a 95 eg neways..

nice way of portarartying it , i need a new gear box , and im scared of buying a complete D assembly for $200 or so bucks

I've fitted the y4 gearbox on the y1 engine and they match up fine.
