Hey guys,

Ive had my car for around 1 year now..
a dc5r.. has a injen cai... dunno which one.. its made out of rubber

and when i first had the car it was making a suction noise
which sounded like it was sucking air into the engine to keep it cool..
( whats its suppose to do )
and lately ive noticed that that sound isnt there anymore..
is something wrong?
am i suppose to hear this noise?
your thoughts please.

Hmm this is weird... pretty sure injens are made out of some sort of metal or so... and the suction noise... is supposed to be there... but i believe it gets less noticeable as the ECU learns the CAI but still could hear it. Correct me if im wrong here.

Im at work right now running a poker tournament..
and this guy i talked to is a mechanic.. just asked him about it..
and he says the reason i was hearing the suction was because it came loose..
im not suppose to hear it.. it has probably fell back into place now
that i cant hear it anymore..
those were his words..

hope his right...

if your pod is still attached then you should still hear slight suction noise.
if pod is not on, which i have experienced the suction noise is pretty loud.
else pod requires a clean or ecu has adjusted to more air flow.

Visually inspect your pod filter first to see if there are any problems.
you can reset your ECU by taking negative battery terminal off for say 10mins. Then start up your car and drive it and see if you notice the induction noise again. NOTE: make sure you have radio code if required.

why not check for yourself?

It sucks air into the engine block to combust the fuel. <--- simplified explaination

yeah im sure its injen.. its half rubber half steel =D

I havnt got a pod connected Crapdaz..
but the mechanic i spoke to last nite did say the ecu
is probably just adjusting to the airflow as well.. like you said..

i might try reseting the ecu..
i wuldnt need my alarm code if i got after market head unit right?

thanks alot guys.. i appreciate it.
