as above, just fitted e hytech header on my dc2r, throwing 02 sensor code, checked connections all good. watz wrong?

was told it takes awhile for ECU to adapt to the header?

did you take it for a drive or just let it idle ??

which O2 code?

first thing to do is reset ECU & see if it repeats itself

if it does,go straight to ECUMANs sticky in the DIY forum.

will do just that.

my mechanic had removed the battery and reconnect again and still throwing the same code

how was the code read with scanner or CEL?

i repeat,what code was it?

Is it giving you code 1 (1 long pause) then it is the primary 02 sensor.

Have you checked to see if it is actually plugged in properly?

check the wiring also

Resetting the ecu won't do anything.. even if the code clears it will eventually come back.

lol,resetting ecu wont do anything.......

i suppose u dont check your test equipment before checking anything either?

hope u dont work on low voltage stuff,u'll be a charred mess on the floor before u know it

as diagnosed by the mechanic..the code that shows up a series of 4-5 blinks and followed by a last blink ( pretty fast blink )

How do u rate the hytech header? can u feel a difference?

ok,code 41 is the only one that really sort of fits here.

the problem is the O2 heater.

pull the wiring connector apart off the sensor(the first one before the cat)

-make sure no dirt or whatever in both ends of the plugs & pins look like they go together well if put back together, leave them uncoupled

-on the engine harness plug side, check u have 12V with the ignition on/engine off on the yellow/black wire.

-on the sensor plug side, hold the plug so that the clip to hold the 2 plugs together is at the top when looking at it & measure between the bottom 2 terminals to see if there is about 20-30ohms,if good make sure neither of those 2 pins has any continuity to ground,if either does or ohms out of spec u need new sensor.

-lastly check the black/white wire on the engine loom plug side has continuity all the way back to the ECU A6 pin & is also not grounded.the wire changes colours on the way back to the ecu, dont let that throw u off.

Geez once again we can always rely on you for good, detail and no BS tech info CRXer...

I'm experiening the same in our dc2r with the CEL after we installed Toda headers, though I havent checked what code it is due to the fact that the car still going good and I have learnt to ignore the CEL on the dash.

I have heard from a few ppl defective o2 sensor right after a new header install, I wonder if it's a case of wiring/wiring plug damage after handling or traces or oil and/or silcone on the inside of new headers from the factory that killed the sensor.
Just as well a new oe heated sensor is only going to cost me $70-80 so no biggie, assuming that's my problem.

i got no idea what you are on about...

what has checking test equipment got to do with resetting the ecu?

what has checking test equipment got to do with resetting the ecu?

in this case the ECU is your test equipment, its testing the system to make sure everything is present & functioning within spec.If its not it tells you that the test has failed.

u should always make sure your test equipment is reading correctly first before being lead off on some wild goose chase for no reason.

this could all just have been a case of someone switching on the ignition with the sensor not plugged in & the code is stored, simply reset ecu, problem solved.................get it????

How do u rate the hytech header? can u feel a difference?

u lose some low end power but can feel gains in the vtec range. All these based on butt dyno so yea no dyno figures to support my stand :)

just wondering how u find ur toda header? fitment shld be good from wad i heard from all toda users.
