B16A's from an old crx or a EK VTI-R OR rear TYPE R OR DC2 B18C's pretty common aswell!! depends wat u wanna spend!!

u can't put engine from an older chassis/body/model...

to op, one big Q that u must answer: how much dosh u willing to spend?

well the car is a 99 ek1 hatchback ,
wanting vtec motor anything above 97 series.
not single over cam , want the double over cam dont really care about the litres as long it has power.

again as mentioned above, the engine will have to be 99+ has to be same or newer than the chasis. thus your options would be b18cr or any K series, and comes down to how much you want to spend.

and i would say YES to ANY engine...as long as the manufacturing date of the donor car is older than the recipient car, then it's illegal...

if you have the time buy all the parts u need and try doing it yourself im sure alot of the guys in here are helpful...

no its not illegal.. i called up RTA and asked police aswell. they both said its fine.. i even told them

i got a 98 can i put a 96 egnine in that.. RTA person said its fine.. police said its ok might need eng cert but its fine

thats what they told me

hmm i think it is illegal man..

if u tried to get the cert, i don't think you'd get it, or get the blue slip to rego it..

Sorry to bump this but can anyone confirm if a older engine can be put into a newer chassie and be able to be rego in NSW
