1. I doubt it will be cheaper as you already go as a group
2. Have a look in one of the other threads as I have already posted a detailed post on getting your licence
3. If you are buying a bike because you want to look cool, please stick to driving a car

i'd highly recommend doing any motorbike licence testing at HART (honda australia head office in tullarmarine). awesome guys teaching, good well maintained bikes. they do testing on cb250's so they are very easy to ride

i got my license doen at armstrongs. they use cbf250s and its fairly easy to ride and learn on. teaching was good and we got mates rates because we have a few of us joinging. you could do that same. they give you a second chance if you stuff during a little during the test which was comforting for some.

test is bascially whole day from theory, to practical, and they teach you all you need for the test so a noob can pass no worries.

only just saw this. when i got my bike licence i did it at HART at honda HQ in tullamarine. they're very good, very informative, friendly blah blah blah

unlike some driving instructors i have seen they teach you what you need to know, not just what you need to pass the test.

they do the testing on cb250's and also scooters (scooter is easy way but it's better to learn how change gears)

for experienced riders i think there is a one day course, for noobs it's a two day course. i can't remember costs but it'll be on their website, or you can give them a call.
