Oil change at 5000km?

Hi all,

Any of you guys recommened to change the engine oil at 5000km? If I go ahead, should I be looking at synthetic oil yet or should I stay with honda mineral oil until I hit 10000km?

I changed my oil at 1K with FEO and again at 5K with FEO,at 10 K changed again but used Full synthetic.

first service from honda is like 99 bucks then next one goes up~read your book in the dash glove box~price is there i think~

when your engine has been worn in, easiest way do long trips like going up to north coast.

Initial 1000km service was free from my dealer.

Service docket said cost was $100, but no charge to me.

No oil change - just checked all fluid levels, settings etc.

Yeah,sorry FEO is Honda oil.When you get your car serviced just before you drop it off go to Honda spares and buy some FEO,cost approx.$25,then leave it on passenger side floor and tell service to use it.Save $15 and you know what oil is going in your engine.:thumbsup:

That just means you use your brakes too much and your tyres are not grippy enough. :)

The brakes are good enough for normal driving. For tyres, they are OEM, which are the cheapest cost, adequate grip but sold to end users at high prices. Get some RE001. :thumbsup:

Nope, all Euros in Australia are CL9s because they are 2.4L. I have not yet seen a privately imported CL7. Hope to see one though. :thumbsup:

I got one of those little baby bottles of champange, chocolates, some kick arse tomato relish that I ordered some more of, some biscuits, and some nougat I think.

I did think it was a nice touch though. It just made the experience a bit more pleasurable. I have got stuff all at previous dealers that I brought my cars from.

My dealer didn't give me free stuff. Not even an umbrella or a Honda keychain. I guess it is because I haggled til I got the car below RRP + mudflaps and floor mats..... :(

I reckon the umbrella and keychain were worthy sacrifices to get $3500 off the full RRP+on road price back in 2004 before they started including those in RRP. HHahahah
