hello,
i wanna to get a bleeder bolt as my current engine doesnt have one.

1)what kind of sealant should i use when mating it to head?
2)how come my engine doesnt have a bleeder bolt? d15b7
3)and how much roughly would it cost?

my car doesn't have one either.
Why do you need one?
to bleed the coolant, so that air can escape?
To get right off the air bubble in the cooling system:
slide the temperature all the way to HOT.
put back the radiator cap, only on the first click... or no radiator cap at all.
run the engine untill fan kick off at least twice.
top up the coolant in the radiator and in the reservoir tank.
put back the radiator cap.
and you are done :)

Or just the radiator cap off and let it idle for 20 minutes and squeeze the hoses a bit to get the air out.When the bubbles stop,your done.

thats what ive been doing but maybe cos honda manual says to bleed from bleeder bolt makes me worry not to do it their way. fear of rust in engine block? :confused:

the radiator cap is fine since its the highest point in the coolant system - this lets air escape there
Easy. After draining coolant and topping up again -
Push temp slide to HOT
start car , let idle for a good 20 mins to warm up.
when the thermostat opens to circulate and te thermo fan goes on the level will drop and air bubbles will bubble out , top up the radiator as it does this. One ot two more times and top ups should be sufficient.

im a bit worried there, cos of this kind of reminds me of how toilet plumbing works? the way the air is trapped so your toilet doesnt smell like poopie?
does this happen anywhere in the coolant passages? :confused:

nup
the bleed bolt is located on most d series engines , on the upper radiator house housing to the head. Its a small 12mm headed nipple.
It has the cast mark on later engines (B series etc) but it isnt there.

mmmm... guess i dont really need bleeder bolt eh
btw if i wanna clean coolant passages from sediments what solution do i use?
is there any premixed solution at repco or something?

Nah,don't need it.
I would spend $120 and go to a radiator specialist and get the coolant system 'reversed flushed',that is guaranteed to get all the crap out that has built up over the last few years.

Yeah,too cheap!
If you can do most the work yourself then that's a real cheap way to get going again.
