Some people say no powersteering lets you feel the steering alot more.
More precise

It's definitely easier effort wise with power steering, simply because the driver steering inputs require much less effort and strength to carry out, hence making it easier to make small measured adjustments quicker.

I think it depends on the cars particular steering design, some power steering systems have great feel, others have none at all. Some cars are heavy at the front while others are light.

If the second question starts spam you know what happens lol

You will get infractions for spamming. So please limit that.

BTW, if vtec kicks in during a drift, you just understeer (assuming you have a FWD).

Only RWD cars really do drift...the rest its more like a ....skid.

i've seen an eg sedan in the drfit-wars in Japan. Unless you use your handbrake you can't really drift a FWD properly.

But on steering racks, yes no power steering gives better feedback on drifts, but having p/s lets you get into the drift easier. Its a pref. thing.

imo, drifting using FWD is really stupid. I don't see efficiency at all. I have seen some of my mates pulling their hand brakes on track in order to drift their car. To them, they think that this is the most efficient and best way to take a corner. When I heard that, I'm like wtf? Isn't that going to slow down the car heaps and at the same time pulling your rev down at the corner? I had a debate with them about this before but I gave up. Simply because fwd is not designed to drift.

My 2 cents. ;)

It really varies between car and size of steering wheel (assume you are smart and buy another wheel other then the stock one)

IMO No power steering would be better as you will feel it better but then again it will be harder to get into drift

keep in mind that my opinion would be bias (as i dislike power steering and have no problem without it)

In reality if you do take the p/s out of the car the steering should be fairly light but still give it that feel

So does anyone want to give a quick noob guide to drifting without power steering? It's a manual RWD hatch...

lol Drifting with no power steering is the same in reality it just required more skill and muscles and maybe extra right foot to accelerator

Agreed!!!! If u want a drift car, buy a S15. I sold mine away to get a DC2R..Trust me, drifting will find its way into ur wallet n slowly drift away the bills in them. If you have an accident (lucky for me i didn't, but i saw 1 of my buddlies did), it will be a big one cos either u get a half cut front...or a half cut back. LOL
