12.002 is now the Australasian FWD N/A record!
Hayden from Workshop X ( New Zealand) with his Hybrid B series powered EG hatch civic has done it again at Meremere > Honda drag day event , previous pB was 12.1 sec .

I've heard the chassis isn't as stiff on the 1G rex as opposed to the 3G civic - that's just from US autocrossers though. It has to do with the hatch design.

ALLMTR

I reckon I could get one down to 660kg's tho

Setanta

LOL - I don't doubt it.

If not for the short wheel base, I'd suggest trying to dump it all into a first gen Civic - they weigh in at a base weight of 660 kilos ;) I was actually contemplating an EW2 12 valve drop into one of these - they can be made to produce 150bhp with moderate mods such as I/H/E, bore, headwork and twin webbers. Drop Fi into the equation and a (insert dirty "T" word here) could be bolted up to it fo a bit more fun. Re-looking at the wquation, the SOHC VTEC motor will also fit ;)

ALLMTR

Yeah shame about the wheelbase.......and engine bay room.......and front suspension........and chances of finding a rust free specimen

tinkerbell

the kerb weight of the base EF civics is only around 820 kg...

(although the VTEC ones are over a ton fully optioned)

Yep - the Aussie spec ones with power all and aircon are about 950kg as I recollect but the JDM bottom spec are over 100 kilos less.

My poor SiR is a bit porky at 1030kilos including sunroof and power everything (but no LSD or ALB options - the only things it didn't get). ALB adds another 80 kilos on (thank-god I didn't get one with it ;) ).

sorrie if this has been asked before
but whats ALB?

and how exactly would you know if a 2nd hand teg ye got has lsd or not?

anti-lock-brakes

teh tranny should have LSD stamped on it - or next time you have the driveshafts out - look through where tehy go in and if you see a shiney steel bar - you dont have LSD...

Another option is to jack the car up (front wheels in the air) and give one of the tyres a turn with your hand. If the other turns in the same direction you have an LSD. If it turns in the opposite direction, you don't .......I think I got that right......

its ABS - not ALB :)

tinkerbell
11-11-2003, 01:21 PM
ABS - maybe for newbies,

but the old school remembers the first Honda's came out with 'ALB'...

so in this sense, ABS and ALB can be used synonymously, however, if you wanna get specific - then the individual vehicle types do have different acronynms for their respective braking systems...

o ok ...
ive only ever known it as ABS.

I'll take your word on it tho as im sure you are aware of the two acronyms :)

Few guys doing low 12s to mid 12s aswell now days. YBOOST DC2 , MRK24R , Fadi's DC5R and few other guys.

It shows alot of progress in the past few years in Australia Allmotor Fwd Honda Drag scene
