possible engine swap on BB?

hi, my girlfriend has a prelude 94 Si 2.3L non vtec automatic, she wanna swap the engine to a faster one since the engine is 260000km+, she wants to be unique, but H22A is just too common, thinking of K20, but which one is better????

i know that if i wanna K20 in BB, i need to use Accord gearbox and a H2K gearbox connection.

so what is ur idea on it, rmember it is automatic, she wanna swap to MT, is it hard?????

i know engine swap has been covered thousand times, but just give me some thought here, thanks

It's a massive job, but anything can be done according to your budget!

K20 kicks ass, but just remember it's not going to 'drop straight in and work!'

pretty sure it's illegal to swap to a smaller engine? if so k24a would be the only realistic option

And for a K24A conversion you'll need to budget around $15k or so.

yeh hasport has k24 mounts for the 4th gen, u can use the k20 itr box but ull need a bit of custom work to make it fit as the h series boxes and located differently, and as elee said its a massive job... and if she keeps it stock itll still be about the same a h22a swap, unless she decides to mod it, then itll be better

never heard this before. An engine has to meet ADRs and emissions of teh engine it replaces....and within a 15% capacity increase without re-engineering brakes etc. Nothing about going a newer smaller engine tho ? i cant see it as an issue at all.

there are a few options, F20B, H23AVTEC, K20, K24, K24/20 hybrid.. All depends on how big your wallet is, not whether "can it be done"
