ive just done a b16a conversion and its great, except for the high revs when cruising. but i was thinking... can i use the 5th gear from my LS gearbox in the b16 gearbox or is it not that simple? i know i cant do it at home but just wondering if its at all possible?

Hey hey - glad ya happy.
I *think* you can use it, but I think they are the same ratio aren;t they??
Not 100%, but I think you can.

I got used to the high reving after about a week... The B16A dosen't really mind spinning along at 3.5 - 4krpm cruise speed. I think the only solution is to buy a DC5R or S2k with the 6 speed box :p

howcome you didn't use the b16a gearbox aswell!?!?
can't you tune the car to run at lower revs?
with the conversions, is this a common problem?

What are you on?
Take me to your dealer! ;)
You can probably "tune" to idle at lower revs but to actally run the car at same speeds but at lower revs is all to do with gearing.

thanks matt, i think they must be different cos the b18a wasnt spinning so fast.....
yeah im getting used to it but just thought it would be nice to lower it a little as i do a decent amount of 80-100kmph cruising
has anyone got a stuffed b16a gearbox that i can have/borrow to get a pro to check this out for me?
