I just wanted to know, theres an integra on car sales for awhile now, ive seen it for a few months, but i want to inspect it. but i'm thinking its shonky..
8,300$ GSi auto black 190,000KMs from bankstown. it has hail damage on the hood, extensive i would say, so thus its probably all over on the top (theres no top view).. when does it hail that bad in bankstown lol..
i shouldn't bother then ay? and it is only some insurance companies will cover me since i have hail damage? :S:S http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/private/HONDA/INTEGRA/details.aspx?trecs=124&Cr=1&__No=20&__Ns=pCar_Price_Decimal%7c0%7c%7cpCar_PrivateSpeci alFlag_Int32%7c1%7c%7cpCar_ImageCount_Int32%7c1&__Nne=20&State=New%20South%20Wales&distance=25&silo=1003&seot=0&Model=INTEGRA&__N=4294965322%2080%204294965105%20834%20285%20257 %201216&__sid=117FA40157CB&state_id=80&Make=HONDA&R=5661063&sort_type=2
i just wanted to know, cause i searched but didn't find anything.. and before you tell me to search.. YOU search and then give me links . so :)
anyways, jdm front end coversion on a GSi, would it be similar to doing it on a VTiR or a Type R
how long would it take to do it if i took it to a workshop? prices from these workshops?
i know to get the front cut for it would be around 2.5k give or take 0.5k so yeh
and i'm asking because
im looking into buying a GSi for now.. auto cause my greens arn't till march next year (sigh, parents won't let me buy the manual since most of it is there money)
so i want to do the JDM front end conversion
then engine transplant, which i'll have to use a bit more money to convert auto->manual and then go from there..cause i want the car now and i don't wanna wait any longer to save for a better car..

Your parents wont let you get a manual cos it's their money but you want to fork out 2-3grand for a jdm conversion on a gsi. I'm confused. Just buy a manual and get an auto T shifter top for the gear knob to trick em ;)

jdm front on all DC's are the same so therefore there will be nothing to search for.
to find out how long it will take to do depends on where u take it same with the price, you should ask them.
doing the engine conversion part is just stupid imho unless ur gonna go for a k series.
just my 2c.
my suggestion if you plan to change engines etc.
buy your auto gsi now sell later buy a manual dc2 and build off that.
save yourself the headache

save the effort, convince them by explaining that if you buy an auto you'll end up spending more to get a transplant.

save you own money and stop killing your parents money lol.
nah just buy a manual and tell them you cant be a man without one ~and how much its taking away your dignity to drive auto.
just buy manual bro. how old are you ?

Yeps, scrap the auto to manual conversion - buy the right transmission the first time.
If you want that manual now, perhaps go for your licence again in manual, that way u have more grounds to convince ur parents to buy u your manual AND you get to learn how to drive a manual properly instead of having ur mates teach u BS techniques.
Works out cheaper this way as well, and a lot less hassle not having to deal with converting shit.
And yes again, all DC2/4/R is the same in terms of panel interchangeability.
I heart the SSS

1. Learn how to drive PROPERLY. That's all there is to it. If your parents won't let you teach yourself (very good way imo), get someone who's qualified / legal / know's wtf is up.
2. No point at all with the auto
You can pick up a "looked after" DC2/4 for a good price these days in manual... **** the pansymatic.
Also, you should ask a few people who have done a JDM fronts to get a good price estimate (It's better then guessing).
Insted of going "ummm ahhh 2500 front cut, 500 labour."
For all you know, it could be a lot more then that. Doing your homework properly can really help out here. It'll prevent you from getting stuck with a non-driveable semi JDM front DC2 like "fark, where's my dollars?"

nah its because, what happens when my mum needs to take the car? cause what happens on the days she might need it and she can't drive manual and i might not be there to drive her lol..
i know automatic is shit so yeh, its just what they want, and man i'm a uni student, finding it hard to save money lol .. wells my guess was from homework, someone else was selling it for that price anyways.
hisoka - i'm 18 on my reds =\
Crapdaz - and they don't know im getting the transplant, i told my dad before on my old civic, and his like 'wtf dont do that shit waste of money'
An41 - yeh thats what i'm thinking of doing, just use the GSi to get around, or maybe just a CXi or GLi, cause its cheaper, and along the way i try and save for my dc2.. or dc2r
02gzm - the things i'm doing are not straight away, not like, im gunna buy the car, then straight away get the conversion lol (save it up myself take a few months for the convert)...also nice trick, but when my mum trys to drive it, looking at the clutch and why she is always stalling, lol, they'll know..
yeah so thanks everyone else for their 2cents lol, preciate it.

Dunno how keen on a dc2 you are but have you ever thought about a semi-automatic 5th gen prelude? They aren't overly expensive these days and it suits to both manual and auto drivers. Then one day you can buy urself a dc2r and save yourself the headaches from the conversion process.

Dude, doesnt speak much about your level of respect for your parents.
They buy you a car, and then you go off and do something to the car which they have expressed to you NOT to do.
Just leave it as an auto ffs.
When you start earning your own way, then mod the car the way you want.

Gsi > Gli/Cxi
It may be an auto, but at least the b18b will feel like it pulls harder than the d16's.
