View Full Version : VTI-R gearbox to ITR 4.4 gearbox

a guy selling me a ITR gbox, but he told me that the outside part (shell) is broken, but the parts in inside are fine, juz wondering is that possible to swap over the parts from ITR to my VTI-R(gbox)??how much does it cost?is that a big job??cheers

The outside shells between both of them are exactly the same.

Not really a big job at all, since your gonna have the gearbox out all you do is crack them both open (un-bolt) after draining the fluid and swap over the internal components, I would rate it about 4-5 out of 10, with 1 being an oil change and 10 being a port/polish job. Best to change seals and bearings if u can or needed.

not all itr box are 4.7

Most are 4.4

and what about an aust spec vti-r box? I think they are 4.4

96 and 98 spec itrs?

jdm 96 spec is 4.4
jdm 98spec and audm dc2r are 4.7

the covers are easy to swap over u will not have to touch any of the insides
as it is attached to the end part of the gearbox
your only swaping covers make sure u put the spring with the little ball bearing back in too which holds it in place
easy to lose

Correct me if I'm wrong I think the 2000 model AUDM DC2R came with 4.4 and AUDM DC2R 2001 model came with 4.7

always thought all ITR boxes were 4.7

All AUDM ITR's are 4.785 final drive.

JDM '96 is 4.4, '98 is 4.7 if that's what you mean
