I've had a pod on my dc5r ever since I bought it and it's running fine!
If anything, you'll just have to watch out for the defect stickers =)
Oh and i don't think pod filters are recommended by anyone on these forums due to heat soak and whatnot, so if you have the money get yourself a CAI :D

all k&n filters come pre oiled
u wont have any problems with it having on oil on it
its in a oem box so not defectable
when u clean it with the cleaning kit just re-oil with enough to cover the filter

Hey dude where did you get your dc2 K&N filter from?
I want to still use the stock box but with an aftermarket filter like K&N.

Blah, I hate K&N. IMO for the stock airbox... Trust or Spoon foam filters are the best.

Why, in your opinion are Trust and Spoon the best filters rather then having a K&N filter?

Yep. Outsourced by the same manufactuer.

The filter in question is a pod/cone filter. I HATE the sound of pods (even though mugen is a Pod). I don't like the Mugen induction noise, but it works.

I also hate those oiled type filters. Just not a fan of K&N. It's just a personal preference.

but i do want the attention when opening up.. ;)

Yeah but you like the attention. LOL.

Edit: you do mean opening up your car right, not legs or bum crack? If the latter, watch out for Q-ball.
