I'm trying to find an S2000 steering wheel for my 5th gen Prelude (It's pretty much a direct bolt on) and came across one for sale.

Apparently not all S2000's came with cruise buttons in AUS? Is this true? (His was derived from an AP1 2001 model)

What I want to know is -

- Wich models came with the cruise buttons
- Which came with the 2 stage airbags? (The 2 stage airbags are not compatible with the 5th gen Prelude)

Thanks Guys

Only the US has cruise option, and select EU too.

If it has cruise buttons, its a US wheel with USDM cruise, or its an aftermarket cruise function added on.

Two stage airbags I believe were 04 onwards with the completely different airbag - logo and all.

So no AUDM S2000's came with Cruise control?

One more question... Is it possible to attach the cruise buttons from the USDM steering wheel onto a AUDM steering wheel?

And did UKDM derived S2000's have the cruise buttons? (AP1)

I can;t see why it wouldn't be.
You can buy the buttons etc from the US for about $30.

UK, possibly, but doubtful. Will check and let you know.

Attach: yes, make functional: that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

The USDM cruise control buttons connect to the actuator via the 'reel' in the steering wheels. It is a strip of plastic with contacts that allows you to turn the wheel whilst maintaining contact. Whether or not the AUDM steering wheel reel has the additional contacts for the cruise control is unknown.

Most aftermarket steering controls use RF.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket cruise control system that has an OEM type fitment? Like the ones from the US? And also one that won't get stuck with the throttle cable and hold the car at WOT (happened to some people I know on their s2ks lol)

You know Aus, they say pictures are worth a thousand words...not in this case!!!

Nah seriously, what cruise control unit is that?

It's a Rostra with RF control.

There is a similar unit from Autronic these days that has speed preset buttons.
