I searched but nothing answer my question.....well my engine is D16Y8 SOHC Vtec.....if i want to get a higher power output by increasing the compression ratio of my engine, what parts do i need? about how much? Do i need to source it from Oversea (Taiwan, US etc) I just wanna to get it up to around 140ps......any techs-head here can answer me? That would be very helpful indeed.

from 130hp stock to 140 hp...at the engine isnt so much...but FOR ONCE a realistic goal !!!

Perhaps start small , with a good reputeable Cold-air-induction setup and a nice full exhaust( header, hi flow cat and catback system) and maybe play around alittle with ignition timing + inlet cam timing and you should have a 5-10hp peak gain :)
Overall cost for exhaust sytem + CAI ec should be under $1000 for everything...

Upping your static compression is a matter of installing a thinner headgasket for a start - then moving onto differnt pistons , and new camshaft etc etc...$$$$$...
Just start with the cheapest optiosn if you havent already - dyno the results to see a "HP" gain ( which really is just a number lol...) then move on from there :)

grab a cam. im getting a comp cam stage 2 (59300) which will give u 10-15hp on the dyno if ur stock, more if ur modded. big vtec.

if u want to increase compression, u gotta do thinner head gasket, or new pistions/rods

Thx a lot...i did I/H/E already..if i just go to get a thinner gasket + cams....is that all right to use the same piston and rods? will it cause any damage to the engine? any power gain by changing that?

PS:Supercharge, NOS and Turbo is not an option for me.....i will stay as it is :)

i would grab that CAM (only one :P) , and a new valve springs and titanium retainers. then chip/hondata ur current ECU and raise ur redline to ~8000rpm (when the cam falls over). After that run a thinner headgasket (get compression into the mid-hi 10's) and mabye a port and polish (while the head is off) and a valve job. stock valves are usually pretty good.
tune and ur done.

cam = 400
springs + retailiners = 400
gasket = ~100-200
ecu = 50-1000

that would be a pretty mean setup.

if you deside to get new pistons go for about 13:1 CR and also do what weq said.
