individual throttle bodies just means that each cyl has its own TB rather than a single large one.
there a few ways you can run them you can go with an intake manifold around them, as seen in toyotas silvertop and blacktp 4AGEs
or you can run them with trumpets, so each TB has its own intake. you can either run them with open trumpets, or you can put some sort of filtration, like mini pod filters, or even alot of people put trumpet socks over them, and they are practically like a sponge...

Your looking into ITB's for an auto?
Don't touch ITB's unless you have headwork done.

Youll need some headwork to get the most out of them.
They give great responsiveness and the sound is just sexual aswell.

ITBs dont need to have trumpets
individual throttle bodies means just that

4age silvertop
has a manifold over it

what it looks like in an engine bay
airobx feeds air into manifold. then air into each individual TB
or yo have the sort with trumpets
there is no diff between the two excpet for the one with trumpets sounds sexual, coz you can hear the air get sucked into the inlet.
they both give incresed throttle response over a single TB

this is probably the best set up for street driven cars instead of using straight just trumpets...
i know someone who had tuning problems due to temperature changes when ur stopped at the lights for example...
overall, the itb setup (trumpets) gave him 4kw gain throughout the whole rev range...

if your after responsiveness then ITB's are the way for N/A. That, with higher lift duration cams and a good exhaust including sufficient headers will make the most of what it has to offer. Look at the way Toyota's 4AGE silver and blacktop is set up for example, not crazy power but usable
