radio static

hey i just installed a new jvc head unit yesterday, but now i get some really bad static on FM channels but only when the car is on. it helps if i pull the aerial out all the way, but its still noticable. any suggestions?

does it happen only when listening radio or when you listen to CD as well?
check the antannar connector behind the head unit..
