Tried a u-turn on an incline as a learner and laid her down in slow motion.
Stuck my foot out at the front of an intersection and slipped on wet grease, and watched the bike fall, again, in slow motion.

It will happen, sooner or later :p

I managed to reverse into my bike with my car. My girlfriend opened the garage door and because the driveway was on a slope, I couldn't see the bike as a I reversed in. Bang, bike on its side, but only scratches on the fairing.

I was washing my bike.
Its on a slight hill.
i forgot to put it in 1st. n it rolled forward when i was washing the wheels.
THEN down she went.
n the worst thing is. it landed on the washing bucket. which put a nice hole in the fairings.

well this was on my Ps fzr250. not the ninja.

Oggies are good for saving your fairings when you have a slow drop or lay it down, but a good stack will either rip the oggies off, or rip parts of the frame off via the oggy. Beware.

I was going to say. I have also heard of bent frames etc.

also if the oggies dont rip off the bike, and they stay on, in the case of a fast going stack it could also dig in the ground and flip the bike, not nice, ive seen it happen

the first time i ever rode a dirt bike, i lost control, tried to power it thro a massive ditch, bike flipped over and then onto my leg, now i have a badass scar from where the chain dug into my shin (was 10 years ago but still can feel where it carved into the bone)

casey wuld too fall if he didnt have all the technology helping him stay upright. have u seen the bloke ride? he brakes so hard im suprised he doesnt flip, just grabs a handful and squeezes and then midway into the corner he cracks full throttle :S

on the otherhand vale is very smooth when braking and accelerating out of the corner

imo casey = reckless

e240
11-09-2008, 07:36 PM
Observe if you have the chance, they will brake all the way to the apex, hard at first and gradually ease off, and then they'd start accelerating, but they'd be balancing the clutch at the same time. Amazing.

MotoGP guys are so pro, its like going in to the sport with a 'no fear' attitude it wins races, i mean holy crap from when stoner first entered the motogp and did nothing but crash out to becoming world champion, they are so skilled.

dropped my bike turning right at an intersection.

stalled it when i took off and the bike just tipped over. couldn't get my foot down in time as i'm quite short, and the bike was so far over by that time that i physically couldn't hold it up.

I was overseas. Thought the bike was in neutral when I kickstarted it. It was in 1st.

The wheel was turned to the right so it spun me around and landed on my leg lmao...

not realy a drop but it sent me over the bars.. just a shallow muddy river cross down at the local trails and some smart ass kid dug a hole in it and put a log there to.. got a bit muddy
was just going slow in second as i usually do to save getting a big line of mud up my back so as soon as it bogged down it stalled :thumbdwn: fail

Hi, I know I'm a few years late but have just joined and had successful highside 7 weeks ago. dead straight road sign bit slippery when wet , (was a bit damp) 120k's , back wheel stepped sideways for unknown reason, tried to correct (apparently wrong move) and I highsided and rolled, tumbled and somarsaulted down the road through the scrub and finally stopped.. I just lay there, guy following me walking over very very slow, I said I'm OK, not gunna move, better get some help The outcome, Motorbike tottalled, me nearly totalled, no just 5 ribs, franktured neck of humourus, and chipped the head of humurous.. Still in much pain in shoulder ..but... I can still walk, talk and laugh about it..I should be dead.. had all the protection gear on, did not have any abrasions that needed any treatment.. IT PAYS TO USE THE PROTECTIVE GEAR...

Some 45 > 50 years ago, young and mad, Friday night drink night out of town, me on old Gold Flash, false plates, no rego, cops pull me up and I overbalance with bike on top, Police had to lift bike off, convinced them the bike was registered, and I had a licence (Idid'nt) the sentence , walk that bike home, started to walk and they drove around the block. I then parked it rejoined the guys for a gfew more ales. Then back to bike, 1 kick and she fired, screwed it on, straight out over bridge to home 3 miles away.. lorrel of the story... DONT TRY THAT NOW..

Damn! Thats not good Grumpy! Been riding motorbike since I was 4 years old. Had a few spills back then (off road). Had only the one accident on the road. I had some doush in a tow truck not look back and reverse on me. In that case I bailed and dropped the bike. I should have been smarter at the time and left a larger gap for an escape. Oh well, can only learn.

dropped it a few times

1985 VT500e - first bike, total noob, unlicenced and on an unregistered bunky, going too quick around a corner, locked the rear, spat me off at about 40km, got back on and rode home.
1989 CBR250R - parked bike on an incline to take some profile shots, wind blew it over, no damage thankfully bar a cracked screen.
1999 R6 - too scared to ride it silly so nothing eventful
2000 GSXR750 - Left hand suburban corner, early morning dew, 40km low side
2002 R1 - RNP, going a tad quick, sat her up, washed off speed, but at about 60km front hit the debris on the side of the road and low sided
2007 R1 - After a trackday at EC, was at a petrol station, parked on an incline again, dont even remember how it happened but laid the bike down ever so slowly, minor scuff on the bar ends and pegs.
2007 R1 - too hard too fast equals
