Hi, all

I am a noob when it comes to cars. I have been thinking about buying a honda civic, thats why i signed up to this forum.

1. So what I really wanna know is what kind of pricing should I be expecting (drive away), including insurance, on road costs, etc (i don't really know what else needs to be included). I don't have alot of money so i am considering the VTi model.
2. what kind of options should I request for the above pricing?
3. Is there a better time frame to buy a car? (i heard 3 monthly the prices should drop because the dealers try to meet quota, is this right? so around end December would be a good time?)

Sorry for being such a noob, I have tried hard looking through things but still awaiting confirmation really.

Thanks alot for all ur help in advance.

P.S. what do u guys think about the head space in the driver's seat??

Welcome to the forum. A good place to start for a VTi would be $24000 drive away (for automatic). For about a $1000 more you should be able to negotiate quite a few extras such as mats, pollen filter, exhaust finisher, mud flaps, tinted windows, rear parking sensors and number plate covers. If you can get all this below $25000 then that's a bonus.
Good Luck.

why dont you consider buying second hand, you could save thousands by buying second hand for a car with less than 30k on the clock i think thats new.

A simple search through the forums will reveal a lot of answers to your questions.

A good place to start will be:

New Civic VTi drive away dealer price (http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=60141)

You might want to also check out the noob forum and some of the stickied threads too.

@ howdy, I have looked at that thread already, but I also asked a few questions that's not covered in that topic. plz read my first post.

So 2nd hand like new, meaning an ex-demo car?? for those no taxes are needed? I guess those are registered vehicles already. So for ex-demo vehicles how much can I get it for?? that would be a good price of course (this is also not covered in that price topic).

Thanks to all who replied, really appreciate it.

I think they mean a second hand car off for example, carsales. Ex demo cars would have around 3,000km max (even still ex demo cars are pretty good, my mums astra is an ex demo car and is in good condition and was a couple of grand cheaper)
