bought my euro from motorama like 2 weeks ago. just had a big problem...
my driver's central locking is not locking or unlocking all the time... car is getting harder to start... could it be a weak battery? or is the central locking system failing.

If you leave the car for some time it unlocks when u reach the car...
but if you try to lock it back immediately, all doors lock up except the driver's door.
tried the internal switch to lock and unlock the door. all doors work except again the driver door...

anyone know why?

is it the battery dying? or the thing that controls the central locking dying?

Could be the battery. How long before it starts?

Yeah sounds like a bad battery. Get a multimeter (you can buy 12v ones cheap from dick smith) and check the voltage of the battery. It should be:

12v when the engine is off
14v+ when the engine is on

Also change the battery in the remote as it may be fading. You can get them at dick smith.

If the drivers door lock isnt locking when the other are, the cable may be loose or something, or the actuator may need replacing.

is the actuator problem, I have that problem too. just use your key to lock it. should work. to replace the actuator cost me around $300 (dealer price). sometime I also found very hard to start the engine. I used better fuel, looks like run better and easier to start.
All the Euro have to cracking 7 to 8 times before engine start. just a bit longer than normal engine. Let me know if I am wrong. Thanks

anyone knows how to pull my door apart to test the actuator?

If you replace the battery, get one with a higher CCA rating.

The stock one is 330ca I think. Since I upgraded to a 400cca, the engine starts in 2-3 turns instead of 4-5 turns :thumbsup:

You can get service manuals on ebay for $10. I doubt you can find a CL9 service manual on a website.

Just use this to remove the panel: http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9307/eurodoortrimremovalfx2.gif

If you manually push and pull the lock up and down, does it motorize?

Did the dealer give you warranty? I think they are liable for 1 year by law, and 3 months for parts.

if you have warranty from the dealer for buying the car you should use it if you can

ok.... the lock works if i Lock in manually... but if i unlock manually it doesnt work... i guess it might be a loose connection?
the button on the power windows panel works by unlocking and locking all doors except the drivers...
so logically it only motorised the other doors if you lock but not unlock.

It sounds like the actuator works, so it could be misaligned or loose or jammed.

Check for warranty. If no warranty, pull off the lining, remove the mechanism, grease it and re-seat it.

You will see some rubber sound dampening and thin plastic weathering covering the holes. To remove it, heat the glue around the edges using a hair dryer and pull it off (be careful not to burn the thin plastic). Once done, heat it up again and re-apply it.

ok i think its the actuator that is the problem.. cause the battery is fine...how much for the replacement? would warrenty cover these?

Some defects are excluded from the warranty:

* a tyre
* a battery
* a light
* a radiator hose
* a vehicle accessory, radio, tape deck, cd player or air bags
* paint work or upholstery that should have been apparent at the time of sale
* any additions made after the buyer takes possession
* on vehicles older than ten years old, or more than 160 000km, the air conditioning unit is not covered.

The plastic bag with the Honda sticker on it costs $310. That's why.

Probably labour.

FYI the actuators retail for $194.65

What they cost to manufacture and what they sell for are two totally different things! You dont buy a new clothes dryer for $100, or a can of Coke for 20c do you?

Dont hate the player........

SAME. My drivers side door auto lock died last week. Getting it fixed under dealer extended warranty.

I think mine wore out from 3 years of me clicky click!

I had my passenger door actuator replaced last week (sadly, I was 2 months out of warranty... sigh). Part was $200, labour $65.

Hmm true. Lucky my actuator is still good.

Yes they should, you dont touch the actuator when installing dynamat. Unless the dynamat is physically touching the actuator or something. They would need to prove the dynamat damaged the actuator.
