Hi all.. in my quest for a set of good extractors to go on my car I have came across this set of Vibrant J Spec 4-2-1 race headers.. Seeing how the Vibrant Muffler that came in matt black had such good reviews.. I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience using it... would it be worth the hassle of shipping from the US ? or are there any comparable sets for the similar price..

Here are the links to the product..

The ebay seller listed above is an authorised vibrant product international distributor referred to me by PerformanceCloseout.com..

Any input (except flamming ) is welcomed..

Many Thanks

I thought of that too.. but i just have doubts over whether a replica header sitting in my engine bay would crack one day.. the delivered price of that + the correct flange pieces comes up to be around 700 AUD.. comparable to the JDM 4-1 sold here.. (probably abit better without the height clearance issues with the JDM 4-1)

well at the end of the day it is your money, but for around that price 600-700 if you didnt want the hytech and are worried abot replica stuff... just get a 5zigen header or something  and clearance with a 4-1 on a b18c is not bad.... its the b16a blocks that have to worry about it

Never heard anyone running these before.
If you do get em, write a review up.

vibrant make good quality exhaust components. Having had the vibrant muffler on my em1, the welding is beautiful and most importantly sounds great

The Vibrant stuff is well made, most in Taiwan though, the header you speak of isnt that popular in the states as where the hytec rep sells like hotcakes, they are a very proven budget header.

If you're looking for good well priced a header from the US, look into Spoolin Performance - they have just released a TODA copy and it makes great power aparently:

There are also a few good reviews on it on Honda-Tech:

I would be seriously considering this header for a b16. But for b18 and above, it's hard to beat the tri-y design (as long as it's a good quality one).

Cant go wrong with a hytech replica in terms of power, ground clearance isnt great though

awesomeness guys... thanks for all the great replies... i've been hunting down for 5zigen headers..as at 680 by maxhonda its a GREAT price... but unfortunately.. they have sold out.. and 5zigen no longer makes them anymore.. (according to one of the traders) ..

Hytech seems like a very good alternative.. but then again.. the expense of modding the B pipe and clearence issues really puts me off....

The Hunt continues... :)

Also.. it was raised in another forum that the J's racing 4-2-1 header for the Ek9 would NOT fit a B18C2... (cos the B16 block is shorter according to the seller).. does anyone here have any insight on this ? Its quite confusing as I thought B series headers fits all... B16a/B18c same header...

If it is made for EK9... then it will fit a B18C.

B16A block is 7mm shorter than the b16b/b18c block hence if it was made for B16a then it wouldn't clear.

But if it was specifically made for the EK9 (B16B) then it will clear the b18c block, as both blocks are identical in size.

Thanks ATSE for clearing this up for me...

No problems... just double check with the seller to make sure it is made for an EK9 and you should be fine.

Hey guys... found this dyno sheet of a 2008 Honda Civic Si fitted with this Vibrant header (not the same one for a DC2)....

This is the Link btw...

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/bolt-ons-all-motor/88210-vibrant-header-w-hfc-dyno-stock-car.html

Its showing an impressive 8hp gain.. (if i'm reading it right...) its a pity it still has the annoying CEL issue... (they claim to have solved it using some ebay adaptor plug for the Oxygen sensor..)
